Revlon Colorstay 12-Hour Eye Shadow "01 Copper Spice" : Swatch,Review & EOTD

Hey ya people. How are you??? Its Thursday again...one more day to weekend ;) :mj
I'll review one of my 2 quads today that has been there with me since the last two yrs,but i never used it much. Now that everybody in blogosphere is talking about this i realised what a fool i was back then to have such a nice thing and not knowing what to do with it. :P

The packaging is not that great but serves the purpose and yes its sturdy & travel friendly.I've dropped it a few times but it is still in good condition.
Don't have the applicators now and i assure you they are useless :P So no worries. ;)
I followed the instructions here and came up with a look. Lets have a look at the swatch first.

As you can see the top most color is the one with most shimmers,so can be used as a highlighter on the brow bone as well as on the cheeks i.e if you like shimmers on your face. :P
the second shade is almost my skin shade.it can be used as a overall lid color for a underplayed day look. It helps define the lids nicely. It is not shimmery but its not matte either. it has a satin finish and glides evenly on the lids.
The 3rd shade is my fav. of the lot. its a beautyful coppery brown shade. can be used on the crease to add definition to your eyes or even for a day smokkey look.Amazingly pigmented and has satin finish.
Now the last and the darkest of them all is actually the  sheerest of the m all too. :( i don't know if its the case with my piece or universal though!! its a dark chocolate brown that has some black tinge. It can be used on the outer corner of your lids for smokey eyes. I've to pick a lot of it for some color to show up and just dab dab dab it. If i start blending then the color just fades and it doesn't show up much on the coppery brown as it is. :||

Here is the swatch again in natural daylight.

i've swatched the darkest shade some 4 or 5 times.

Now here is the look i came up with after following the instruction in the back of the quad.

Break Down
1. conceal and prime your eyes.
2. cover your lid with a kohl/brown pencil liner.Don't worry about being precise. We are going to smudge it anyway. :P
3.Smudge it properly with a blending brush.
4.Apply the 2nd shade from top on the whole lid.
5.Pick the 3rd shade i.e coppery brown with a brush and just dab it on the upper half of your lid.
6.Now take the darkest shade and just blend it on the crease with the coppery brown but make sure they do not mixed, just on the crease.
7.Now take the first shade on the tip of your finger and put it on your brow bone and then blend.I find it easy to blend it with my finger but you can still use your brush. ;)
8.put some Kohl on your waterline and tight line your eyes.Apply Mascara and you are done. ;)

p.s: you can avoid the 2nd step if you want.i did it coz the shade is almost like my skin only and the Kohl would add some intensity to it while making it last longer. :)

Products used:
1. Lotus 4 in 1 Stick Concealer (reviewed HERE )
2. Maybelline Colossal Kajal
3. Revlon Copperspice Quad
4. Lashem double Trouble Mascara

Brushes Used:

Now about the quad i feel its a really nice everyday wear eyeshadow quad. There is almost no fall out.Pigmentation is great (Except for the darkest shade).they blend easily.Do not crease for 4-5 hrs. So   if you are looking for a daily wear/ Office wear quad then this is it. :)

Price: 650/- Back then it was for 395/- :P :e

Availability: you can find it HERE & HERE online.

My Rating: 4.5 / 5 (-.5 for the not pigmented darkest brown :/ )
