If you follow my posts regularly then you must be knowing how i hoarded base makeup when SAMB came up with the Mother's day offer of flat 25% off on Inglot. Here it is for those who missed it. ;)
I had bought the YSM Foundation, two freedom system Concealer and this pressed powder. Yet to review those concealers. here comes the review for the AMC Pressed Powder in shade "51".
While the foundation was a hit, this is definitely not my shade. The problem with online shopping i would say! :'( Its almost two shades darker than my skin tone,So i am not able to use it as much i would have liked, but still i love the texture and feel of it. next time i am at the Inglot store, i am definitely checking this out. :D
Price: INR 550/- for 13 gm of powder.
My Experience:
If you compare the shade with my MAC Studio fix Powder Plus Foundation (NC 40), you can see the difference very clearly.this is definitely 2 shades dark.Due to the sheer coverage it doesn't look very stark on its own but still one can see the difference as it looks kind of wrong on me, So what i do is, swirl my B & D Powder brush over this and then over my Maybelline Clearglow Compact and then apply it on my face. Since the Maybelline one is a shade lighter, this somehow balances it out and i manage to use it at the moment.
However the finish of this powder is so soft and creamy that i love it absolutely! No i did not write it by mistake. It actually feels like a creamy powder. If you have used Inglot Blushes then you will know what i mean.
Due to its super soft texture there is a lot of fall out. if you use a sponge then i suppose you will not face this problem but with my powder brush , this powder just crumbles on touch and flies everywhere like a loose powder.
You can see the extra powder my finger picked up for the swatch.
This picture is a month old when i had got severely tanned and you can clearly see how the part without the powder looks just a tad bit lighter. :( But one thing i have to give it credit for and that is how natural it looks on the skin. you can not really make out you have something on, if used lightly. Of course you can layer it up but this can give medium coverage to the max. So this shouldn't be used for the purpose of heavy coverage. While this is a very nice finishing powder it does nothing great for the dark spots or acne marks if any.it does lighten them but not enough to cover them up.So has to be used with a foundation if you need better coverage.Alone it is not capable of much concealing.
Now with the reduced tan the difference is much clear on my face. So i sometimes use it as a contouring powder as well.
My Rating: 4 out of 5
My Recommendation: Yes if you need a finishing powder. It does not control oil for more than 3 hrs and can not conceal much but yeah if you need a regular compact that looks natural on the skin and kind of gives a satiny, dewy finish then go for it. If your main concern is coverage and oil control then this is definitely not for you. I would say its a light finishing powder which sets the foundation really well, apt for year round use. May not be your best friend in the summer but you are going to love it during rest of the months. :) Personally,I just love this.
I am definitely checking out my proper shade in this when i am at the store. ( Hope that is soon ;) )
Hope that helped.
