Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick -04M Blush :Swatch, Review And FOTD
All set for the Navratris?
With all the festivity going on I thought of reviewing a shade that is apt for this season. After all its that time of the year when you go all out with your best traditional/ethnic wear & flaunt your Indian-ness. So here I present a deep maroon-burgundy shade to go with your look. 🙂
Its Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in shade “04M Blush”.
As I have already mentioned, this will go with indian ethnic wear beautifully, especially for the night outs. the finish and texture is same as all the velvet mattes i have reviewed already here on ETM. One thing i have noticed with all of them recently is that when i put a lot of lip balm underneath the lipstick doesnt settle in fine lines after a long wear. Of course its nothing new but what i like abt the combination in this lipstick is it does not alter the staying power of this lipstick at all. 🙂
The packaging is same old velvet matte and nothing different. As i got this shade online it reached me in a slightly battered state. The bullet was actually stuck to the cap even though the lipstick is in its place inside the tube. :/ I really dint get it how the lippy’s top got battered when it was inside the tube the whole time. See the colored cap below.
Now here is a swatch!
I don’t know why the swatch came out so brown in the camera. Actually it has a pink tinge rather than brown, which is very much visible on the lip swatch. A lot better than the scary maroon looking bullet above. 🙂
On my Lips!
This is what the actual shade looks like. Isn’t it pretty! You can layer it up for more intensity but i find this lighter version better on me.:)
Now here is what it looks like on me! 😀
You can pair it up with most colors i feel and thats what makes this shade so versatile. You can wear it with all your traditional stuff and so with your western garments. It will look really nice as a bridal wear as well imo. 🙂
However this lipstick does leave a deep pink stain behind. While its a good thing for the long night outs during the festivities, its not something everyone likes.
Here is the stain on my hand that i am talking about.I just wiped the shade with regular cotton pad after some 10 minutes.
My Rating: 3.5 out of 5
My Recommendation: This is a shade that will suit most Indian skin tones beautifully.A very common shade that can be easily dupable too.If you do not already have a similar shade in your stash then you should get at least one for the occasional requirement. The stain is the only thing that is stopping me from recommending it to you all.So if it does not bother you go ahead and get this..if not for you then definitely for your mom. 🙂 She is gonna love it.
Hope this helped!
