My Take on the Elf Baked Blush – Pinktastic:

I just got this blush as I needed a highlighter badly in my makeup stash as preparing for a family wedding soon ;). The shade Pinktastic can be best described as more of a highlighter than a blush itself. Read on to find out how well it fairs…

This is the second product I’m reviewing that is a part of my shopping with beautyjoint. I love the site for its nice pricing, good brands and quick delivery.

Shade: The e.l.f studio baked blush Pinktastic is a champagne shimmer shade which can be used as a blush or as a highlighter. It appears as a beige white blush with light pink veining in the pan. It has more of a frosty finish than noticeable shimmers. Actually all the 4 blushes in this range are shimmery. Well, we do need a highlighter to actually make us glow and this blush does that nicely. :)

Texture: The blush is smooth and pigmented. As it is baked in nature so I swipe my brush 2-3 times to pick the color and then apply evenly and easily. It gives a natural, subtle glow to my skin which I like. You can wear it just about anytime to make the skin luminous. You cannot go overboard with the shade easily as it takes time to build up. I prefer using Pinktastic on top of my matte blushes to add an extra glow to them. There is no fall out at all.

Staying power: e.l.f. Studio Baked Blush “Pinktastic” stays on for long. As a highlighter, it remains on for 6-7 hours. And as a blush, as it is a lighter shade so I find it fading away after 4 hours on me. I always use this dry but the baked nature of the blush makes it versatile enough to be used as wet too. That surely would increase the pigmentation and longevity of the shade.

Packaging:Though the transparent lid and the domed look of the blush appear attractive still these are not much sturdy so care needs to be taken while handling them. One fall can make the dome shatter. There is no applicator or mirror provided in the pack.

Pros of e.l.f. Studio Baked Blush Pinktastic:

  • Versatile beige white/champagne shade.
  • Can be used as a blush and as a highlighter
  • Helps to add natural glow to the face when used as a blush
  • Fairs very well as a highlighter too
  • Pigmented
  • No fall out
  • Smooth and blend able texture
  • Can be used in dry or wet form
  • Stays for long
  • Decently priced
  • A shade that is easy to work with. Difficult to go wrong/overboard with this one.

Cons of e.l.f. Studio Baked Blush Pinktastic:

  • Non availability in India
  • Purchasing online increases the shipping cost.
  • If you do not like shimmery shades then this one is not for you.
  • Packaging is not that sturdy.
  • This shade is too light so you need time to build this one up.

Overall Verdict:I solely got this shade for highlighting purposes and it does a very good job at it. Otherwise also, I wear this shade anytime to add a subtle glow and even on top of a matte blush to add a bit of shimmer. The shimmer is quite natural and it gets noticeable only in bright light. So if you like light shimmery shades, then the e.l.f. Studio Baked Blush Pinktastic is a good option to try. :)

ETM Edit* Looks lovely as a highlighter Nids and I agree this can’t be used as a blush alone. When I started reading, I was like such a shimmery one but looking at this on you I can say, you made the right choice. ;) I especially loved the effect on your eyes. ^_^ Ohh and loved the clicks as well! ;) :)
