MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer NW 35 Review
How was your weekend? Mine was lazy. 😛 Thanks to 15th of August, we watched “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai” on the first day itself (Hated it BTW. 😐 Even Imraan acted better than Akshay Kmar. :/ Especially his dialogue delivery. To pushy and too artificial. ) and came back at around 2 A.M and since then our schedule has gone crazy :/ and both of us spent the weekend watching Movies and Kapil on TV. 😛
Okay. That’s not quite related to the product except for the fact that late nights = dark circles. 😛 So I will stop here. O:) Coming back to the product, I have been loving this one a lot. More than any concealer I have used so far. 🙂 So here I present MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW35.
Price: INR 1300 /- for 7 gms
What MAC Claims:
A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. provides a smooth, long wearing, invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic. this emolient-based, light weight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage on the skin’s imperfections and discolourations. MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer effectively conceals dark circles.
My Experience with MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer (NW35):
This is by far the best concealer I have tried on my dark circles. When I asked the MUA to suggest me a concealer for my dark circles, she wanted me to try the select coverup concealer as I do not have much of dark circles as such. However I already have a liquid concealer from clinique which I do not use much, so I opted for this cream one from studio finish range. 🙂
My real problem is, I have deep set eyes and the shadow of my own brow bone on my under eye area makes it look a tad bit dark than it really is. This MAC studio finish concealer evens out the uneven ness and conceals the dark areas on my lids and inner corner to give an uplifted effect. 🙂 Sometimes I have my artery showing through my skin just around my eye. This completely covers it without looking cakey or heavy. 🙂
Here is the demo.
You can see the darkness is mostly on my inner and outer corner along with the faint artery on the right side.
Comparision before and after using MAC Studio Finish Concealer!
I hope you can see the evenness in the after picture. The skin color on the side of my nose, skin around the eyes and under eye, all look same. 🙂
This particular shade NW 35 has a peachy brown undertone. It balances the darkness of the sensitive under eye area really well. I also use it on the corner of my mouth and it acts amazing there as well.
The swatch of MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW35!
MAC Studio Finish Concealer is thick as you can see but very easily blend-able. This thickness makes sure you use a small amount each time. It is highly pigmented and covers even major imperfections without much effort. In the below picture I have just spread-ed it with my concealer brush.
I mostly use my clean elf concealer brush to apply it around my eyes and then pat it around with my ring finger. That way I don’t contaminate the product by directly touching it. Also blending becomes easy with my finger melting the concealer into a seamless finish due to the body heat. One thing that you must follow after using this MAC Studio Finish Concealer is setting it up with loose powder or compact to avoid any creasing . Other wise the thick creamy consistency can make it settle into your fine lines.
While NW 35 is a lot peachy on the acne spots on my face, once I set it with powder, it hardly shows up any different than my own skin color.
You can blend it out for a medium coverage or layer it up for an opaque coverage as per your requirement.
The packaging is the main reason I got this MAC Studio Finish Concealer. I am very impatient when it comes to makeup. :/ I do not mind skipping my foundation and concealers most of the time. And its only because I like products that need less time and effort to work with. No wonder the all about eyes concealer is just lying in my drawer since a long time and the only base I use most of the time is the Studio Fix Powder Plus foundation. Its all because of the ease of use and this studio finish concealer from MAC is super handy. 🙂
- I do not have to worry about squeezing out more product than required each time.
- Brush can be used directly without messing your palm or fingers.
- In case of emergency you can do touch up easily in a minute using your finger which is so difficult with a liquid concealer.
- The thick texture makes sure it sets quickly without smudging or melting.
- And lastly, you can use the last bit of product left in the pan easily. Considering the price, that is a huge bonus. 😛
My Rating: 5 out of 5
My Recommendation: Definitely yes. You need a concealer that covers, conceals dark circles and evens out imperfection, then definitely give it a try. The only thing you need to make sure is mention the purpose you need it most for at the store. For ex, if I needed one for my face then obviously I wouldn’t have gone for this peachy toned NW35. And once the MUA fixes you with a shade, do try it there to see if it goes with your skin tone well or not. I would highly recommend this MAC Studio Finish Concealer to everyone who needs to hide any kind of imperfection on skin. 🙂
