Elle 18’s New Range of Makeup: Swatches, Review, Pictures and FOTD

Elle 18’s New Range of Makeup Collection : Glow Foundation, Glow Compact, Color Pops Eyeliner and Juicy Lip Balm

I posted about the newly launched Elle18’s makeup range almost 2 months back and was actually looking forward to try each of them. My busy schedule and travelling made me forget about it until I was offered to try out their range and review these products for you guys and of course I couldn’t say no.
Elle18 has always produced some really affordable good quality products aimed at the college goers and teenagers who have a lot of other things in their mind other than makeup. These are super easy on the pocket, fits the requirement of a teenager (not to look over made up) and are decent quality wise. 🙂

So today I will be reviewing one from each of the newly launched products for you.

Elle18's New Range of Makeup: Swatches, Review, Pictures and FOTD

Elle 18 Glow Foundation:

An every-day silky delicate texture foundation with SPF 8 and fragments of a gentle moisturizer that blends into your  skin to give a bright radiant finish and is available in 4 shades. The glow foundation is your instant beauty fix right before your class presentation, college fest or even a simple party in the evening.
Price: Rs. 150 (30 ml)
Shades: Pearl, Coral, Marble and Shell

My Experience with Elle 18 Glow Foundation:

I am reviewing the shade Shell which is one tone dark for my skin tone, but the sheer coverage makes it work fine on me. So shade selection is not going to be play a big role for this one. In case you pick up a shade lighter or darker it is still going to work fine.
The coverage of Elle 18 Glow foundation is very sheer and it can not be layered on to get more coverage. The texture is gel like and a little slippery to touch but it blends very easily without much effort. Its so easy that you can use it even without a mirror. =D It evens out the skin tone in a nice way and is not visible at all.
Basically its perfect for everyday use. Teenagers usually do not have much imperfection on their skin so this much coverage is fine. But If you have marks and dark circles then this would not work on you.

The finish is very natural. Neither matte nor dewy if I have to classify. It does have moisturising property that makes it perfect for the upcoming winter.

The only major con in this one is that it gets washed off with plain water. I remember washing my face a lot many time while in college. So if you are fine with reapplication every time then its fine, otherwise you have to search for waterproof options, more so in summers. But again this is a good thing in the sense that you do not need a separate makeup remover for this. Any regular face wash can be used to remove this from your face. 🙂

Smell: Exactly like the Lakme Foundations and CC Cream.

Rating: 3 out of 5

Recomendation: For winters you can give it a try, but its definitely not meant for hot and humid climate.

Elle 18 Glow Compact:

The Matte Compact is slim and easy to carry and it smoothens and moisturizes the skin at the same time protecting it from pollution. Whether it’s a party you are excited to go to or the college fest you want to be part of, the Glow Compact gives you that extra ‘oomph’ to dazzle everyone with your radiance.
Price: Rs. 150 (9 gm)
Shades: Pearl, Coral, Marble and Shell

My Experience with Elle 18 Glow Compact:

I am reviewing the shade Marble which is perfect for my skin tone. 🙂 However the coverage again is quite sheer like the foundation, so chances of your going wrong with the shade is very less.
The texture is amazingly soft and fine. Like I was expecting, this is indeed a pretty good compact. 🙂 Silky soft to touch, blends in no time and sets the foundation really well. In the dry weather of Pune my skin has become really dry and I never needed to touch up my face the whole day. In fact it kind of highlights the dry skin (refer the picture of my wrist below ) if you have not moisturised it before hand. With the foundation being moisturising it works perfect! Can’t speak for humid weather or oily skin right now. :/
The packaging is very cute and girly. The mirror comes in handy and is big enough to work on your face easily. The applicator is not too soft but decent enough to be used on face directly.
Like the foundation it also wears off with time. Removal is easy with any foaming face wash.
Smell: The same lemongrass fragrance as the glow foundation.
Rating: 4 out of 5
Recomendation: Yes, I would. This is a great budget option of compact for setting up foundation and everyday use.

Elle18 Juicy Lipbalm ‘Berry”: Swatch And Review

My Experience with Elle 18 Juicy Lip Balm:

All of you know I am an out and out lipstick person. I prefer the good old lipsticks to the lip glosses. But off late with the sudden dryness in the air, my lips are craving for moisturising products and I am reaching out for lip glosses. This one reached me at a perfect time. 🙂
The texture is creamy and it glides easily on the lips directly from the tube. The slant tip makes application easier. The finish is very glossy. Like the name suggests it is a tinted lip balm hence the pigmentation is on the sheer side. If you need more color. you have to put loads of it on your lips which kind of looks like you have fruit juice dripping off your mouth. 😛 Definitely not advisable to wear it that way. So if you have pigmented lips, just skip this one. No amount of layering can make it work for you. O:)
Elle 18 juicy lip balm is moisturising to an extent. If you do not have very dry lips then they would stay and look perfectly healthy the whole day. In case of dry and chapped lips (Like I have in the picture 😡 ), It softens the dry patch but does not heal like a lip balm. The color goes off in an hour leaving behind a hint of color. Reapplication is a must every 2-3 hrs, if you want your lips to have that glossy shine and some color.
Smell: Sweet and carmel-ey. Yummilicious in short. ^_^
Rating: 3 out of 5
Recomendation: Yes to those who do not mind sheer colors and don’t mind touching up. Its again a nice tinted balm for college goers who do not want to look too made up on day to day basis.

Elle 18 Color Pop Liner:

Four new exciting shades have been added to the Colour Pop range to ensure that you never face a dull day in college. Brighten your eyes with these magnificent tones and wink your way to an A on your next assignment.
Price: Rs. 75 (5 ml)
Shades: Green, Brown, Grey and Blue
Elle 18 Color Pop Liner “Green” : Swatch And Review

My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pop Liner

Undoubtedly the best from the lot. ^_^ I loved this one. The color, the brush, the color payoff, the staying power and the cute packaging. Its a total winner for me. 😀
The packaging is very similar to the nail pops so make sure you keep those separately. The brush is super thin like the Lakme Insta liner, which is the only liquid liner I haven’t ever hated.

The shade is a pretty gunmetal green with very fine shimmer that makes it pop beautifully. Pigmentation is not great but good enough to show up in a single swipe.
Its not waterproof and comes off easily with plain water. It does get rubbed off so you have to be careful about not rubbing your eyes. As far as the staying power goes, I tested it for 8 hours and it was very much there till I removed it off. 🙂

Rating: 4 out of 5
Recomendation: Definitely yes. These are amazing liners and so affordable. Except for the monsoon these can be worn all year round. I am definitely checking out the grey one soon. Hope it is as good as this one.

I just wish Elle18 had included the ingredient list with all the products. Most products are on the sheer side owing to the age it is being aimed at so I am not cribbing. After all its for young gals who have just begun experimenting with make up and everything else in life. Also at the price these are being marketed, teenagers are definitely going to enjoy these. 🙂
FOTD with all the products together. 🙂
