MAC Lady Blush Cremeblend Blush : Swatch, Review And FOTD

MAC Lady Blush Cremeblend Blush

Hey..!!!!! Everyone..
After a long time, I am back on ETM..
Ok I must confess here I am now hoarding blush like a mad woman. There was a time when I used to run away from blushes. Now I own 15 blushes from different brands. Coming to the type I like- powder blushes as I have super oily skin. On my recent visit to MAC, One of the lovely MUA applied this cream blush on me and I was sold. Later I bought MAC Creamblend Blush Lady Blush.
Lets check how it fared on me.

What MAC says about Cream Blend Blush Lady Blush:
MAC describes it as a warm neutral coral.
My Take on MAC Lady Blush:
The cream blush from MAC comes in a regular round black packaging, with a transparent center to see the color. The quality of transparent lid is poor and prone to breakage due to mishandling. However the cover lid shuts perfectly, hence it is travel friendly.

The shade Lady Blush is actually funny according to me whom MAC describes like it is warm neutral coral; it does not have any sort of coral hint to it. Rather I would say its neutral warm peachy color which looks almost natural on skin. But here is a catch, the more you try to build the color, the more milky white it comes on skin. It is quite weird shade I must say.  :-/

On my face Lady Blush looks more pinky rather peach. One more thing which I hate about this blush is, when I try to use it with my finger it makes me look grrrr pale, as if I am horribly sick. 🙁 However if I use stippling brush or my favorite Real Techniques blush brush, it gives natural flush to the cheeks.

This color will suit people who have a pale or fair complexion with/or pink undertones the most. On my NC 42 skin tone, it just shows some natural warmth.

This is my first cream blush from MAC. So I was actually not aware of their texture until I started using it. The texture is smooth just like gooey butter. It’s thick but it does blend onto skin easily. I think in summers I would need to store it in my refrigerator or a cool place. Personally I am not a fan of cream blushes. It does make my face look dewy. But as it fades, it gives me shiny cheeks which I absolutely detest about cream blushes. Thankfully It doesn’t clog pores.

Now coming to staying power, the cream blushes as we all know are low in staying power. This MAC Lady Blush Cremeblend Blush stays for near about 3-4 hours on my face after which it fades evenly.

Pros:

  • Neutral warm peach color.
  • Gives natural flush to cheeks.
  • Easy to Blend.
  • Does not get patchy.
Cons:
  • Texture is gooey so storage in cool place is recommended.
  • Turns whiter as you build the color.
  • Has to be very careful about the application.
  • Gives dewy cheeks but looks shiny after a long day.
  • Not a flattering shade for most warm Indian skintones.
  • Suitable for fair skin tones.
  • Staying power is low.

Do I Recommend?
MAC Ladyblush is a very natural blush. However the color is best suited for fair skin rather than most Indians with warm undertones. This can be used as an everyday blush if at all it suits your complexion. For someone like me, neither am I a fan of this color nor of cream blushes. Rather I will not invest on cream blushes any more. :/ I would not recommend this to anyone who has oily skin. Better stick to your powder blush. They are more convenient and easy to use.

ETM Edit* Looks really nice Sharmi, but yes I agree. It does look a tad bit milky on your complexion….almost washing you out. I feel this will go really well with dramatic eyes or a full blown red / hot pink lipstick. With neutral makeup and lipstick, it will work only on fair complexions. Nice review. 🙂
