Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer 03 Medium Swatch, Review And Pictures
Lakme launched the Face stylist range of makeup few months back and even though I wanted to grab these as soon as possible I could not owing to my busy schedule at that time. As soon as I got free last month I have been trying out all the new makeup launches that I can get my hands on and also picking up few from the ranges I missed few months back. Lakme Face stylist foundation and concealer was on my (and some of my reader’s) list, hence I got both of them to review and today I have the face stylist concealer in 03 medium on ETM. 🙂
What Lakme Says:

Price: 900/- for 3.5 gms
My Experience with Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer:
Lakme Face Stylist Concealer comes in a simple, functional lip-gloss like tiny tube with a sponge tip applicator. The packaging reminds me a lot of Revlon colorstay concealer that Radhika reviewed few days back. The outer carton has all the product details mentioned and looks quite nice with that silver line on black. 🙂
Below I have the face stylist concealer placed near Lakme Absolute Plump and shine lip gloss for size comparison. Isn’t it really small. Looks and feels quite cute and handy, but that’s only 3.5 gm of product.
I did observe a very interesting fact about this face stylist concealer from Lakme.
Revlon Colorstay Concealer charges 725/- for 6.2 ml of product.
Clinique all about eyes concealer contains 10 ml of product and charges 1350/- .
MAC Studio Finish Concealer comes for 1300/- for 7 gms of product
MAC Select Cover Up Concealer is priced at 1300/- for 10 ml of product
I am not in favor of bashing a brand for the price of their products, but I couldn’t really make myself skip it this time. 3.2 gms of Lakme face stylist concealer for 900 bucks. Not that it is insane amount of money, but for that meager amount, when compared to the high end brands that provide the best concealers ever with a wide range of colors catering to every skin tone available under the sun…. I do feel Lakme is stretching things a bit too far . 😐
Anyways, now that its off my chest I can concentrate on the product without getting side tracked. If I have to sum up my experience with this face stylist concealer in one line it would be something like this. Love the formula <3 and hate the shade selection. 🙁 Just when I though one of the Indian brands has finally come up with a great concealer, Lakme managed to dampen my spirit by the option of only 3 shades it has for us Indians. I have got the shade 03 Medium with me which is the 2nd lightest shade. Apparently honey is the darkest (more suitable for my kind of complexion) and Ivory is the lightest.
Being a girl with wheatish complexion, I opted for Medium. (of course it was an online purchase so had to depend on my intuition and experience with Lakme from before 😐 ) Even though the shade is close to my skin tone, it comes out pale and a little ashy on me. With a compact on top this is barely noticeable on my face , but my under-eye area look too grey even with the tiniest amount of the concealer. 🙁 I feel o3 medium would be a great choice for medium to fair complexion with a little bit of pink undertone.
Lakme Face Stylist Concealer Swatch!
If you notice the swatch on my wrist, you would see Medium is a perfect match. My wrist has a lot of pink undertone and quite light from rest of my body as well. So yes. A perfect match for pink toned medium-fair ladies in my opinion.
Okay. So the shade I picked for myself is wrong. But I did say I love the formula. Here is why.
- It is absolutely light weight. You do not really feel like wearing anything with this. Perfect for summers
- It calms down the area it touches so well. <3 I love that cooling sensation on my skin and under eye area.
- It sets into a kind of dewy finish without being oily and sticky.
- The coverage is medium and it is quite amazing at covering up pigmentation and redness around the nose and my cheek area
- Even though it is not really hydrating, it is quite good at making the skin look well moisturised.
- Blending is a piece of cake with this one. just dab it with your finger and before you know it just vanishes and gives you the most natural looking finish. I so wish It was honey and not medium that I picked. 😛
- Stays on for around 7 hours with a compact on top. Without a compact, it gets dewy as the day wears off and creases on my upperlid. (though i doubt any one skips a compact in summer 😛 )
As I have already mentioned, the formula of Lakme face stylist concealer is lightweight, not too runny or thick. It has the right kind of consistency that makes blending it really easy with your finger.
I have a lot of tiny red marks on my cheek and this face stylist concealer from Lakme evens out my skin tone really well. (though it looks ashy due to the undertone mismatch :X) It also covers existing pimples moderately giving you a polished look with minimum problems showing through the skin.
Have a look!
Lakme face stylist concealer on my under eye area!
As you can see it conceals the redness on my inner corner and upper lid really well and it is so light that using it is a delight. Just apply and in a minute you are ready. 🙂 So if you are in a rush in the mornings, you would love it a lot. Just make sure to get the right match by trying it on your under eye area at the counter.
My Rating: 3.75 (considering the price and availability of shades)
I really hope Lakme introduces more shades soon. Imagine the darkest shade honey is suitable for wheatish skin tone. The dusky beauties do not really have an option which is a major con for Indians.
My Recommendation: Lakme face Stylist Concealer is a great concealer with an absolutely light weight formula that blends like your second skin. It gives medium coverage and the texture makes it look very very natural. It does not conceal major spots or marks as efficiently, but together with the foundation it works great in that aspect too. Even with a compact the coverage dramatically improves. So yes. If you are have medium to fair skin tone then definitely recommend it to you. For dusky beauties, forgive me for saying this, but Lakme ignored you big time while getting the shades ready. :X
