Avon CC Cream (Color Corrector) Swatch And Review
CC creams are ruling the beauty segment as far as base makeup goes and recently Avon joined the brigade and launched its very own Color Corrector CC cream. I have been using it for more than 3 weeks now and I have to say I have been actually loving it a lot!

What it says:
My Experience with Avon CC Cream:
I have used a lot of Avon color cosmetic in the past years of my blogging career, but never touched their base makeup. The obvious reason that we don’t get to match our shades personally had a lot to do with it, hence I never picked anything from the ranges of foundation or compacts Avon had to offer. When this CC cream reached me in my mail, the first thing I checked for was the shade and bingo. It was just perfect on me. 🙂 And since this CC cream does not have a prominent yellow or pink tone to it, it does not look grey or muddy on me. Just what I like in my base makeup to be.
Ohh btw the shade I got is “Medium Wheat” and if you are medium to fair, then you can use it comfortably. They do have another shade “N*de” that is suitable for those with a fair complexion. Like always they haven’t got a match for dusky beauties and I do feel when you are launching a base makeup for us Indians, you should always consider the warmer skin tone too. Anyways, since the coverage is sheer, you can still give it a try and see if you wish.
The formula is creamy, spreads easily on skin and gets absorbed really fast. However the presence of silicone (I am assuming here considering the texture as Avon very conveniently forgot to mention the list of ingredients. 😐 ) does make it slide on skin if you try to layer it up for more coverage. So this is not your kind if you have lot of imperfection that needs concealing. With a concealer however, you are good to go. For some one like me who loves sheer coverage this is by far the best I have come across. It works best when blended using fingers.
The finish is like natural skin with a dewy healthy glow. It covers red patches on my cheeks effectively, evens out minor pigmentation, however doesn’t do much for my dark circles which is fine for everyday. For occasions I need to care about the coverage, I just use it with my studio finish concealer and on lazy days, my Colorbar coverup stick does the trick. 🙂
Avon CC Cream Swatch:
The best part of this CC Cream is the very-visible glow it imparts to the skin. It is hard to ignore and as I was observing my skin after its usage one day, I noticed my skin had that *Edward Cullen* kind of sheen in sunlight! Okay! I am exaggerating. 😛 It was not shining like a diamond ball, but the light reflecting particles looked so nice in sunlight that I got confused how it was possible cause the CC cream liquid obviously does not look shimmery. I checked it again on my wrist and it had the same amazing glow. ^_^ Just that the particles are really fine, so not visible to the naked eye unless you are out in the sunlight or under flash light and even then, it looks really pretty!
The below picture had to be cropped to highlight the light reflecting particles which are really invisible in the pictures otherwise.
It was then that I decided to try it over my studio fix foundation once and gosh the result was so nice! <3 What I do is apply my foundation as I would and then use a layer of this Avon CC cream on top. Since it is very sheer, it doesn’t look patchy and spreads easily adding the right kind of glow to my skin for the day as well as night.
Also the presence of SPF 50 PA+++ makes this CC cream just perfect for summers when you don’t want to layer too many products on your face.
The texture makes it very effective for both oily and dry skin. However you do need to use a compact to make it last a decent 4-5 hours. Otherwise it starts fading by 3 hours and almost vanishes from skin by the end of the day! I did not notice any transferring of this CC cream to tissues, mobile or clothes.
Packaging wise, its nice and handy to travel with. Not a fan of the gold on that black, kind of makes it look tacky, but thats perfectly fine as long as the CC cream works great on my skin! O:)
In the below picture, I only have the CC cream without any concealer or compact on! (Picture taken after half an hour of application in natural light!)
The below picture is from the Closeup Diamond Attraction event I got to attend sometime back. (will post about it soon. 🙂 )
I have used Avon CC cream on top of MAC Studiofix fluid… You can see the dewy glow in flash. Even with SPF 50, there is no white cast. <3 (picture taken after 3 hours of wear)
My Rating: 4 out of 5 (Doesn’t stay whole day long)
My Recommendation: Definitely! If you are wheatish to fair, you will find a perfect match in “Medium Wheat”. I highly recommend this CC cream to everyone who can manage with sheer coverage. The finish is amazingly natural and the glow too nice to ignore. 18 ml is too less for the price, but this Avon CC cream is totally worth it and I plan to pick a back up very soon.
