Faces Cosmetics CC Cream Swatch and Review (Correct and Care)
Another brand to join the CC cream bandwagon and this time its Faces cosmetics. I picked this CC cream 2 weeks back just out of curiosity since I had no idea Faces has launched one. I have been using MAC studio fix fluid for the longest period of time and honestly I am quite bored of it . 😐 Wanted to try something new in the base makeup category without guilt. ( 3 barely used foundations in the drawer does that to you! 🙁 ) to cut the story short, I spotted this spiffing new CC cream at the faces counter on one of my random outings. Having gifted all my BB and CC creams to friends and family, I thought could definitely make use of a new CC cream. 😛 That’s how I convinced myself. O:)
Coming back to the Faces CC Cream, lets get to know this new entrant to the Indian beauty industry which says “Correct and Care”.
Price: 399/- for 35 ml

My Take on Faces CC Cream:
The Faces CC cream comes in two shades and for a change both cater to the medium Indian skin tone. While its good to see it making the product reachable to the most prevalent skin tone in India, I can see it not working for the fair skin tone really well. I got the shade “natural” that looked a little lighter and pinker than the other shade, but on blending you can not really make a huge difference. If you are medium fair or wheatish, you can easily try this shade “natural”. If you have really strong yellow undertones then go for the other one. (forgot the shade name btw. 😐 )
The packaging is simple tube kind with a screw cap that works well for the kind of consistency this CC cream has. The outer cardboard has all the information you need on this Faces CC cream and the black tube does look nice.
The CC cream is light weight, fluffy and spreads easily on skin. The kind that doesn’t need a mirror to blend. It has a faint smell that is very similar to how Lakme Absolute face stylist foundation smells, even though a lot milder. Immediately after spreading you get a soothing and calming sensation that feels great. I do not need a moisturizer beneath as it keeps my skin hydrated through out. I may need it for the winters though.
The coverage is very sheer. In fact it just disappears into the skin even though the shade is not a perfect match to my skin tone. The finish is extremely natural, dewy and I can see a hint of glow, but nothing on the coverage front. Layering it is super easy on the other hand and the formula is build-able to get you a medium coverage. I have realised that the best way to use this CC cream is to layer it up slowly giving few seconds of setting time to each layer. Putting on a lot of it at once will not help you with the coverage at all. So apply it layer by layer if you need more coverage. 3 layers work perfectly for a casual outing and if you have minor marks and dark circles to cover. For an elaborate day/evening planned out specially, I would suggest you use a good concealer with this CC cream to make the look stay and feel more natural. Of course that is only if you are not comfortable with the foundation routine. Other wise this CC cream is best suitable for those casual outings you do not think is worth the time and patience a foundation needs. Since blending this is child’s play, even the 3 layer routine doesn’t need more than 2 minutes. 🙂
The finish being dewy it might turn shiny on those with oily skin after an hour of application, so a compact should be kept handy for touch ups. Also the formula of this Faces CC cream is not 100% transfer proof. It easily transfers to the tissues, phone covers if you skip your compact, so a setting powder is a must with this. Its not as bad as it may sound , but still enough to make you notice. Thankfully the finish doesn’t get patchy even after a long day because of how natural it looks on skin. its really difficult to make out you have anything unless you layer it on like I do. As the day wears off, the dry area around my nose does look a little flaky with this cream stuck to the dry uneven skin, but only on close inspection. You can either smoothen it up or apply a compact to make it look fresh as new.
Faces Cosmetics CC Cream Swatch:
On my normal-combination skin it stays for around 4-5 hours and fades evenly after that. Like the infornation on the outer box suggested, I tried it beneath my foundation and really loved the finish. If you have a medium coverage foundation then you can definitely layer it over this CC cream to get an even better coverage. Also the dewy finish kind of makes the foundation look better with this cc cream under it.
Faces Cosmetics CC Cream Swatch on me (3 layers of CC cream- no concealer and no compact, just a touch of lipstick)
As you can see, the imperfections on my cheek are still there but not very visible. The dark circles look taken care of except for the inner corner that needs more coverage. I have to mention here, my skin is in a great condition right now. I am not sure if I would really enjoy using this cc cream on my bad skin phase.
Coverage wise if I have to compare, then the Lakme CC cream gives a similar coverage in one single layer.
A trivia: Faces CC cream is made in India, by vedic natural care pvt. ltd that also manufactures Aaranyaa herbal products. A fact I dug up…. thanks to google. 😉
My rating: 3.25 out of 5
If you do not mind the layering it up or if you are already blessed with beautiful skin, then go ahead with the Faces CC cream by all means. The finish is extremely natural, blending it is super easy and doesn’t appear cakey even if you do not know the B of blending. The dewy glow it imparts does make me like it a lot better than the other tinted moiturisers, BB or CC creams, but then the coverage is so sheer that it would not ever work with one layer on me. If coverage is your priority, skip this, if dewy finish is what you are looking for, go right ahead and pick this up. 🙂
