L’Oreal Moist Matte Lipstick “Raspberry Syrup” Swatch And Review
There was a time you would always see me in bright, bold and almost neon lipsticks! And right now I am in a phase where I am leaning more towards shades that are deep, rich and have more depth to them.(Its just the winter doing this to me I am sure) Its like I am almost over my bold lip colour phase. Even when I am out for a casual day, I pick my medium pinks, corals and neutrals that do not really need much attention during and after application. Guess age is finally catching up with me. 😐
Anyways today I have one of those rare shade of lipstick that looks oh so pretty in pictures but is really so *in your face * that you need a whole lot of courage to make it work! Presenting L’Oreal Moist Matte Lipstick “Raspberry Syrup”. 🙂

My Experience with L’Oreal Moist Matte Lipstick “Raspberry Syrup”:
L’Oreal “Raspberry Syrup” is also said to be a great dupe to the famous MAC “All Fired Up” from their Retro Matte Range. Personally I haven’t verified the fact, but it does look very close if you compare the online swatches. Then there is another option from Faces Pro Long Wear Matte Lipstick range called “Read My Lips” which looks like a perfect match to me.
Why am I mentioning the dupes in the beginning? Cause this is definitely a must have color for all who like to sport statement lips. 😉
The color is a bright and bold raspberry pink with a hint of red. Looks almost red in the tube but translates into a super bright pink on lips. Though the color lacks the depth I would have liked for winter, it makes a perfect lipstick for the times you want your lips to do the talking. “Raspberry Syrup” looks best when paired with a winged eyeliner or a bare face with just a hint of pink blush on cheeks.
If you are wheatish-fair it would suit you really well, but those with a warmer undertone and skin would find this color too bright to sport more often. Right now I have bad tan from my Goa trip and I find it too loud on me for day wear hence strictly stick to this for my night outs. Unless you are used to such bold lipsticks I will suggest you to try this on before you make a purchase!
L’Oreal Moist Matte Lipstick “Raspberry Syrup” Swatch:
Isn’t that a wonderful pink. I love such pinks with a hint of red. They make lips stand out in a beautiful manner.
Coming to the finish, L’Oreal moist matte lipsticks are really worth the hype. The texture is amazingly light, soft on lips, creamy to glide on smoothly and sets into a velvety matte finish that is non drying. <3 My lips do feel a little dry at the end of the day after I remove the lipstick, but not during the hours I have it on my lips!
The texture being so creamy, it does transfer initially. Once it sets for an hour, that issue is taken care of by itself!
L’Oreal Moist Matte Lipstick “Raspberry Syrup” Swatch on my lips!
I have worn this lipstick quite a lot of times and it has never disappointed me. The color stays on for 5-6 hours easily with food and drinks in between. Thereafter, you can see a deep stain that it leaves behind which again is not patchy hence I do not usually go for a touch up! If you have dry lips then you might as well keep a lip balm handy to add some shine to the stain.
The packaging is classy with the gold case and a color indicator on the lower half of the lipstick body. Its easier to find the one you are looking for even if you own all the shades from the range!
The only glitz I found is that the lipstick breaks from the base. 🙁 Mine was doing fine until I decide to click these pictures during a hot day. So use yours carefully and do not keep it in your bag if you spend most of your time out doors cause it will certainly melt and break in the heat.
My Rating: 4 out of 5
My recommendation: If you are okay with the idea of spending 900 bucks on a L’Oreal lipstick, go right ahead! Personally I would say the texture of this lipstick justifies the price tag and unless you are on a budget or own “MAC All fired Up“, do try “Raspberry Syrup” from the moist matte range. Your bright lipstick collection can not possibly be complete without such a pretty red toned berry pink. In case this colour was too bright for you then definitely check the neutral and medium pink this range offers. There is one for everybody!
