My Take on Votre Detoxifying Massage Gel
The Votre Detoxifying massage gel comes in a simple, round, white plastic jar/tub type packaging with a white screw off cap. There is another white plastic lid which covers the mouth of the jar/tub and protects the gel underneath it secure. The packaging is just average, but since it’s a budget product I can’t fret much about that.
I prefer to do my facials/cleanups at home; on my own instead of getting them done at the salon. It gives me a sense of satisfaction as I know the products I am using and how well they suit my skin. I mostly pick separate products (like scrub, gels, masks ) from different brands instead of buying facial kits of a single brand. Since my skin is oily-combination, I opt for gels for massaging my face instead of intense/heavy massage creams. I ordered this Votre massage gel online last year. I think this brand has been around for some time now but there are not many reviews available online for its products, despite that I went ahead and picked up this gel and its brightening mask.
This is basically a clear gel (no beads/particles), almost transparent; has just a tinge of yellowness if you see the jar. It has a very strong (not bothersome though) herbalish smell predominately of tea tree oil, which stays along while I am massaging with this gel. The gel has a soothing, cooling sensation on the skin which I like. Since it’s a massage gel, it takes a little while to sink into the skin and is not quick absorbing kinds.
Post massage, this gel makes my facial skin matt but soft, slightly tight but not dry/stretchy. The problem I find with most gels is that they make my face sticky/greasy after a while, but I don’t have this issue with this particular gel.
I had used this gel mostly for facials only (like once in a week) but since I had to write down its review and I wanted to see its effects on the skin with continued usage, I started using this in place of my night cream. I have been using it for the past 15-20 days and I feel it’s a pretty decent product. Though it does not hydrate/moisturize well and I don’t feel it detoxifies or deep cleans my skin but it does not leave my skin dry or dehydrated or with enlarged pores either. It hasn’t harmed my sensitive skin in any way, so I won’t call it a dud either. At the same time I haven’t seen this making a big difference to my skin. So, Overall I think this gel would be a safe bet for oily acne prone skin.
I still have a lot of quantity left with me in this jar and I will definitely finish it up , but I don’t think I would be repurchasing it, that’s just because I want to try Forever Living’s Aloe vera gel or Lotus Herbals Anti Acne Gel. This particular Votre gel is a good buy though if you are on a budget.

Review by Nupur
[alert-note]Very nicely reviewed Nupur. 🙂 I haven’t used any Votre product yet. As far as massage gel/creams are concerned, I have liked Iraya wheatgerm massage cream a lot last winter. You give it a try if you need one that’s more hydrating! 🙂 [/alert-note]
