Lady Gaga’s Grammy 2015 Metallic Green Winged Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial:
I have tried to follow most of the steps as done by Lady Gaga’s MUA. You can skip some, if you find the tutorial long or difficult.
Step 1: As always, define and fill your brows and apply an eye primer or a concealer of your choice. I have used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original.
Step 2: Apply an orangey brown to the crease, extending it both to the inner and the outer crease. I have used Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Oktoberfest. Blend this shadow, taking care not to exceed the crease.
Step 3: The first cream shadow used on Lady Gaga was a shimmery silver with traces of teal. I have mixed ELF Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in Party with ELF Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease to get the desired shade. Apply this mix on your lid, avoiding inner and outer corners of the eye. Blend this cream shadow a bit.
Step 4: Take any black shadow with green undertones and some shimmers to draw an outer wing on the eyes. I have used Urban Decay eyeshadow in Cobra. You may find that the angle of Lady Gaga’s wing may be different than mine as her lashes are of different shape. Just try to reach close to outer edge of your lashes.
Step 5: Using the same eyeshadow in Cobra, draw a wing eye liner on the lid. Extend the liner to 2/3rd of your upper lash line. Fill in the liner with the same shadow.
Step 6: Line your lower lash line with the same eyeshadow, avoiding the inner corner of the eyes.
Step 7: Apply a cream shadow in off-white to inner corners of the eyes. I have used ELF Smudge Pot in Pearls of Wisdom. Set the cream eyeshadow with another pale shimmery eyeshadow. I have used Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Flesh Tone.
Step 8: Apply a vibrant shimmery green eyeshadow on the lid. I have used Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Paris Green. Blend this eyeshadow well with the shimmery inner corner highlight.
Step 9: Apply a cream shadow or a liner in bluish green to the upper lash line and along the wing created in step 5. I have used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Mars. Also, apply the liner to the lower lash line. Smudge the green liner a bit to blend with the lash lines and the wing.
Step 10: Apply a creamy black liner to tightline and line the upper and lower lash line. Also, use the black liner to darken the outer edge of the wing.
Step 11: Smudge the black liner on the upper and lower lash line using a pencil brush. Do not blend the outer wing a lot.
Step 12: Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I have used Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. You can also apply falsies if you wish.
This is the final look for eyes.
For face, I used a concealer first and then set it with a mineral foundation. I used a matte bronzer to slightly contour the cheeks and applied a peachy blush. For lips, I used a pinky nude pencil and then a rosy pink lip gloss to match Lady Gaga’s lip color.
This is an awesome makeup for any festive occasion or any marriage you need to attend. You can swap the green color with the color of your outfit and get your own winged metallic smoky eye in the desired shade. 🙂
