L’Oreal Collection Star Lipstick “Pure Rouge” Swatch, Review And FOTD
7 red lipsticks in one range. One wine red (Pure Garnet), one fuchsia pink (Pure Amaranthe) , one orange (Pure Fire) and one brick red (Pure Brick), but apart from these four, the other 3 shades are a prominent shade of red. I showed you “Pure Scarleto” in my last post. However my favorite red from the collection star range is undoubtedly “Pure Rouge”. 🙂 A true red and one that is flattering on most Indian skin tones! No wonder it is the color of Freida Pinto, the dusky beauty that represents Indian skin tone in the true sense!

My Experience with L’Oreal “Pure Rouge”:
The shade being the color of Frieda Pinto has her signature on the cap. The black case with golden accents looks classy. L’Oreal has been improving it’s packaging with every new launch and this one is no different even though it resembles the moist matte range of packaging except for the body color!
The color is a warm red. If you are looking for a true red from the range I would suggest you “Pure Rouge” . Looks great, works great on all skin tones, “Pure Rouge” is the kind of red that is just perfect for Indian skin. With a color like this, you do not have to worry about anything. It works equally great on Indian as well as western wear, bare skin and dramatic makeup…. in fact “Pure Rouge” is one of those colors that instantly adapts to your look and perks you up!
The texture is typical to the L’Oreal Collection Star Range. Pure Rouge is intensely pigmented and one swipe is enough to give you opaque coverage. However I always apply two coats for an intense and even look. It hardly transfers after the initial 5-10 minutes, but to make it absolutely transfer proof you can kiss a tissue just before heading out and it will stay as it is till the time you remove it with a bi-phase makeup remover.
L’Oreal Collection Star Lipstick “Pure Rouge” Swatch:
L’Oreal Collection Star Lipstick “Pure Rouge” on my lips:
Heavily staining, “Pure Rouge” or for that matter all collection star lipsticks leave behind color on the dry patches of your lips. Even though these are not drying on their own, an exfoliation beforehand would make sure your lips look healthy and normal after the lipstick’s removal! Also I would recommend using a lip balm underneath if you are planning to wear it for long hours, cause after the customary 3-4 hours it does settle into fine lines a bit making lips appear dry.
Staying power as I have already mentioned is beyond my expectations. ( 6 hrs+ )These are the longest staying lip colors in my kitty! They do fade, but nothing that would make you want a touch up! 🙂
The finish is the USP of this range. A velvety matte finish that goes on creamy and smooth during application without tugging or pulling! One of the best matte lipsticks available in India! <3
L’Oreal Collection Star Lipstick “Pure Rouge” on my wheatish Indian skin tone!
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5
My Recommendation: In need of a no fuss red lipstick? Definitely try “Pure Rouge”. L’Oreal Collection Star Lipsticks are a treat for sure. I do wish these were priced a little better for everyone to at least own one! But then after using them, I know the price tag is justified. If your pocket permits, grab at least one. “Pure Rouge” is a gorgeous flattering red for warm Indian skin tone to miss! <3 A must try imo! 🙂
