Prep before the eye makeup:
The first step, as always, is to have a clean canvas. Clean and moisturize your face and eyes well. This will help the makeup to go on better and stay longer.
Step By Step Jennifer Lopez’s Golden Globes 2015 Makeup Tutorial :
Step 1: Fill and define your eye brows, though try to keep it natural. Apply an eye primer or a concealer to your eyelids. Blend it well.
Step 2: Mix a mauve and a taupe shade and apply it on the upper crease as the transition shade. Apply a bit more on the inner corners to smoke it out. However, keep a round eye shape on the outer corners and do not exceed the upper crease.
Step 3: Mix a dark brown (Espresso) and a deep purple and apply it on the crease to define it properly. Again, aim for a round shape by applying on both outer corner and inner corner.
Step 4: Apply only the deep purple on inner and outer corner to enhance the eye shape.
Step 5: Take a sooty grey shade (charcoal) and apply on the lid. Blend the edges of the all the shadows to get a smooth transition in all the shades.
Step 6: Apply a matte cream eyeshadow to the brow bone and blend it well with the transition shades.
Step 7: Apply a kohl to upper lash line and waterline.
Step 8: Apply an eyeliner to the upper lashes. Extend the liner in the inner corners to get a sharp feline point. Extend a bit on the outer corners as well to get a subtle wing.
Step 9: Smudge the kohl on the waterline with a mix of deep purple and dark brown eyeshadow. Jennifer Lopez has a very smoked out lower lashline. You can always change the look depending on your eye shape.
Step 10: Apply a champagne shimmer shade on the inner corner to highlight the tear duct area. Blend it well with the lid color.
Step 11: Curl your lashes and apply mascara. Her lashes are not over done, so try to keep it as natural as possible.
This is the final look for eyes.
For face, I used a concealer first and then set it with a mineral foundation. I used a matte bronzer to slightly contour the cheeks and applied a shimmery golden bronzer to get warmth on the face. I also applied a peachy blush on the cheeks. For lips, I used a pinky nude pencil and a nude pink gloss. You can go more pale on the lips as has Jennifer Lopez if you prefer that.
This is a perfect makeup for cocktail and reception parties. Let the eyes smolder with subtle lips. Please try it and let me know how you like it. 🙂
[alert-note]Loved your version a lot better Himani. J.Lo’s eye makeup looks stunning but her face makeup is another story altogether. She looks way too pale and the light concealer is not really working in her favor. Your version is very wearable. Lovely tutorial! <3 [/alert-note]
