Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Ultra Breathable Two Way Cake in “PO1 Beige Chiffon” Review and Swatches
Helloo all my lovelies 😀
As I have always maintained, Maybelline has been forever my most favorite affordable drugstore brand <3 and omg I was so excited to suddenly see the Maybelline counter at pantaloons flooded by so many new items. :O It was the launch of the rebel bouquet- the spring summer collection and there were the new graffiti nail polishes, lipsticks and new base makeup yayyy!! I picked up this 2 way compact ‘coz it apparently is the revamped version of the famous dream matte powder with added benefits! I was matched to the shade PO1 *beige chiffon* .

My Take on Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Ultra Breathable Two Way Cake:
I must admit, I am crazy impressed by the revamped packaging! This satin skin cake comes in a long sleek peachy cream colored sturdy compact with a big mirror and 2 compartments *for the sponge and the cake* *_* it’s the classier version of the pink Maybelline Clearglow Fairness Compact! The compact is light and easy to carry. 🙂 The sponge though is a big failure. :-/ It drags the product and makes application horribly patchy unless you want to apply it wet! So you have to carry a powder brush for touch ups. 😐
The texture is really really silky, creamy and beautiful! A lovely finely milled mineral based cake, it really does end up in a satin skin finish. <3 I apply it lightly with a powder brush *ecotools* and it soaks up all excess oil while seeming invisible on skin– no powdery/streaky look or feeling at all! It provides quite a modest coverage as well and conceals my minor redness/blemishes when used just by itself so kudos! I did try as well to work it both ways and applied it wet on my face, but while it did provide good coverage, it did not sit right on my skin and seemed too patchy. 🙁 Might have been the fault of the horrid sponge as well. -_-
Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Ultra Breathable Two Way Cake “Beige Chiffon” Swatch
The satin look and feel of my skin lasts for an impressive amount of time considering this is the worst season of the year and only needed to be touched up at the t-zone around 4+ hours of heavy sweating :-/ it still did not melt off the face though. <3
Maybelline Dream Satin Skin compact comes with quite a high SPF- 32 along with PA+++ which makes me love it to bits! Only sunscreen does not work for me in this 40 degree sun
Pros of Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Ultra Breathable Two Way Cake :
- Sleek classy sturdy long compact with a big nice mirror and 2 separate compartments 🙂
- Silky smooth, creamy satin finish powder- vanishes into nothingness after brushed on the face <3
- It soaks up excess oil and gives a delightfully realistic radiant skin finish- nobody can detect powder traces!
- No powdery look/feel- does not melt off/oxidize/streak 🙂
- Okayish coverage- fine for light blemishes and slight patchiness/redness.
- Lasts for an impressive amount of time even in this terrible weather and does not require frequent touch ups!
- Comes with high SPF 😀 mwahh..
- Very affordable!!!
Cons of Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Ultra Breathable Two Way Cake :
- The sponge is aarrgghhh..I threw it away after my first tryst -_-
- The wet application does not work for me- too patchy 🙁
My rating: 4.5/5 !
Do I recommend?
Basically if you just kick out the sponge and use this as your compact/setting powder you are set. 😀 Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Ultra Breathable Two Way Cake works for all skin types basically- neither matte nor creamy- a skin like realistic satin finish which looks beautifully polished! A sleek classy compact, a high SPF, non streaky non oxidizing nature, long lasting finish, and last but not at all the least the extreme affordability makes this a champion! Maybelline emerges on top always! I cant believe they have still maintained the 550/-INR range of the discontinued dream matte powder O.O *are you seeing this L’Oreal?*
So that’s it for now! I loved the foundation too and probably will pick it up as well. <3 Till then, toodles!

[alert-note]Sounds nice Agni. I like that they have considerably good amount of SPF in there to make it more apt for summers. The finish does look wonderful. I might give this a try. Lovely review. 🙂 [/alert-note]
