Step By Step DIY Manicure with VLCC Pedicure-Manicure Hand & Foot Care Kit And Review
I was very happy to get this manicure and pedicure kit. I haven’t grown my finger nails since my wedding 11 years back. I got a little encouragement to grow them, so I started to take care of them. This was my first time doing a manicure for myself. I generally bite my nails so I do not even use a nail cutter. I use gloves for house hold work so my hands are quite ok.
I went and got this only because I wanted to pamper myself at home and have a budget only for a pedicure. I am absolutely happy that I invested in this kit.
The VLCC Pedicure-Manicure Hand & Foot Care Kit consists of 5 items:
- VLCC Pediglow Foot Cleanser 50 ml
- VLCC Myrrh Cuticle Oil 10 ml
- VLCC Pediglow Foot Scrub 50 gms
- VLCC Cocoa Butter Foot Cream 50 gms
- VLCC Orange Anti Tan Pack 50 gms
Price: INR 480
To do a manicure keep the following items ready:
- A bowl to soak your fingers
- Two small hand towels
- A bottle of hot and cool water
- Nail polish remover
- Cotton balls or cotton swabs
- Nail file
- Nail cutter
- Nail Buffer
- Cuticle Clipper
- Nail polish
- Base coat
- Top coat
Start your manicure by removing your nail polish, cutting your nails, then filing them in one direction only not left and right and right to left. That is so wrong. Lastly buff your nails to even out the surface and to smooth out ridges.
It is now time to use the VLCC Manicure and Pedicure Kit.
Step By Step DIY Manicure with VLCC Pedicure-Manicure Hand & Foot Care Kit
VLCC Pediglow Foot Cleanser
In a bowl add as much as a coin of the cleanser for your manicure. Double for your pedicure. Then put some warm water in it and soak your hands for 10 mins. If you have a lot of dirt under the nails you can use a soft brush to clean else, rinse and pat dry. Soapnut and margosa in this Pediglow foot cleanser helps remove deep seated pollutants from the pores and softens thick tissue. It also fights hand and foot infections and harmful germs.
Once this is done, use a cuticle pusher to gently push the cuticle back toward the nail bed. Next step is optional if you are used to a cuticle cutter. It gently trims and grooms cuticles. Highly debatable step cause removing the cuticle can cause infection and leaves the protected margin of the skin vulnerable.
VLCC Myrrh Cuticle Oil
Take an appropriate amount as much as a green pea and massage all around the nails and into cuticles for 10-15 mins. Cuticle oil is a moisturizing product that softens and lubricates the skin and nails.
VLCC Pediglow Hand & Foot Scrub
After you soak your hands in warm water for 5-10 minutes, take an appropriate quantity of Pediglow hand and foot scrub and massage well for 5-10 minutes. Wash off with water. The scrub has small granules and feels a bit harsh but these are hands and not your cheeks. Rinse with water and I then take the pointy edge of the cuticle pusher/orange stick and remove all the granules and debris from under the nail.
VLCC Cocoa Butter Hand & Foot Cream
Apply the Cocoa Butter Hand & Foot Cream cream generously and massage well over your feet/hands for 10 minutes. Wipe off with hot towel. Good cream and seeps in well and fast. They advise you to put a hot towel because its opens the pores and allows the nourishing effects of the cream to seep in. It is not a cream to moisturize. I put orange essential oil in the warm water so I have the smell linger on the hands.
VLCC Orange Anti Tan Pack
Take appropriate quantity and apply evenly on the desired area. Leave it on for 20 minutes and wipe off with moist cotton and rinse off. It is creamy to apply, goes on nicely and then dries quickly to become a mud pack. It does lighten the skin. Please don’t apply it on your face. Once dry, wash is off with plain water and then put a moisturizer on your hands.
If you have hands moisture gloves then slip them on and wear them in bed overnight. Remove it in the morning. Your hands will be soft and supple. If you don’t have such gloves, no problem. Do not paint your nails immediately. Let them breathe for a day or two before you choke them under nail polish. Hence the yellow nails. No oxygen.
A basic manicure costs about 350/- in Mumbai . The kit costs 480/-. I guess you can do about 10 manicures with this kit and ten manicures in a salon will cost you 3,500/-. The kit wins hands down as far as money goes. I quite enjoyed doing my own manicure. I took some time off for myself, relaxed and felt good after I did it. A penny saved is a penny earned. Keep 350 Rs aside for each time you use the kit and see how it accumulates. After ten manicures, you can use the money to buy something really nice for yourself.

[alert-note]Wow! I love how clean and well groomed your hands look after the manicure Christina. 🙂 Like you, even I bite my nails. 😛 I do grow them once in a while so manicure is an occasional treat for me. I should try this one to keep my nails in shape. Very nicely explained with step by step pictures. 🙂 [/alert-note]
