New L’Oreal Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder Preview and Swatches
I love it when brands come up with products that are affordable and do their targeted jobs nicely. These last few months have seen various new launches in the base powder category and today I have the latest one to join the pressed powder bandwagon from L’Oreal Paris which is named L’Oreal Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder. 🙂
The name makes it pretty obvious. As expected it mattifies, hence it is apt for oily skin and for those who stay in a humid climate. The texture is soft, powdery and it is easy to load on your brush. Pigmentation is great and it provides medium heavy coverage on a single layer. You can further layer it f or more coverage too. it does look a little powdery soon after application, but sets in to a natural matte finish after around 10 minutes. A spritz of rose water or finishing mist solves the issue immediately if you are in a hurry.
I will be doing a detailed review soon. The focus today is on the 5 shades that have been launched in India keeping in mind the warm undertone of Indian skin.
L’Oreal Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder Shades :
- N2- Nude Vanilla
- N6- Nude Honey
- G1- Vanilla Ivory
- G2- Golden Ivory
- G7- Golden Amber

As you can see all the 5 shades are warm with yellow tone to them which makes these apt for warm Indian skin tone. The lightest shade N2 Nude Vanilla is suitable for very fair skin and this one does not have strong yellow tones so those with slightly cool undertones to their fair skin can also use it.
G1 Vanilla Ivory being the second shade is apt for fair skin tone with an obvious yellow tone. I found this to be the perfect match in evening indoor light, but the difference could be seen in broad day light.
G2 Golden Ivory, the medium shade out of the 5 is just perfect for my wheatish skin tone. Not too orangey and not too white, it would suit medium and medium fair skin tone too depending on the amount of yellow you have.
N6 Nude Honey is the 4th shade that again caters to medium and wheatish skin tone. The slightly obvious orange-yness in this color is just perfect for the extra warmth a dusky skin tone needs.
G7 Golden Amber is the last and the darkest shade that L’Oreal has introduced in this Mat Magique range. It is suitable for deep dusky skin tone, but not for those with a darker skin tone.
Just one more shade in the range catering to the dark skin tone would have made this range perfect, but I am glad they have 5 shades to choose from and 3 shades for the medium skin tone with slight variation in the yellow pigment. 🙂
In the below picture I am wearing N6 Nude Honey on my face over bb cream. It does look a little off (not the correct shade for me), but do notice the absolute matte finish and the coverage. I haven’t used any concealer on my dark circles or those pesky red pimples (>.<) . No finishing mist as well. More in the detailed review that will follow soon. The blush is kind of overdone I know. 😛 Went overboard while attempting to make the powder shade work for me. O:)
