Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder Review – “Fair” and “Medium Deep”

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder Review – Shades “Fair” and “Medium Deep”

Revlon nearly naked range has been one of the most awaited launch this year and after using them myself I can safely say I know why. true to it’s name, the range has products that are light weight, sheer enough to pass on as no makeup, but good enough to cover pigmentation, redness and minor spots and imperfections. Revlon nearly naked liquid foundation is my current favorite and today I am going to talk about the pressed powder from the same range.

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder “Fair” and “Medium Deep” Review

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder like the foundation is available in 3 shades in India

  1. Fair
  2. Medium
  3. medium / Deep

I have 2 shades Fair and medium deep with me today. 🙂

My Experience With Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder:

Remember the times when you could just use a pressed powder over your moisturised face before heading out? Foundation was not the big thing then and was meant for special occasions only.  Well that was how it was fr me and this Revlon pressed powder reminds me of those days. Don’t know why. May be because I am doing that a lot these days while I head out to run errands! Or could be because I love how it gives that natural yet polished look to my face which anyone would take as my bare skin! Whatever it is, I am absolutely loving this as my quick fix. 🙂

The packaging is all white with shade details mentioned on the front and back. The inside has a mirror, the pressed powder in a round pan and a small rectangular cushion-y applicator. The applicator is soft and nice, but the size makes it a task to apply powder all over my face using the same. I have to layer it multiple times and it soaks up more product than it delivers on face, so I am better off with my powder brush which I anyway use for powder application. Not a con for me, but if you use your applicators provided in the compacts then you may find this irritating. O:)

The texture of the powder is soft, silky and satiny. Being sheer in coverage, I was not expecting it to do much for my skin, but it evens out redness on my cheeks really well. The minor spots also appear less noticeable and for me that is enough I look for in a compact because for better coverage and need I always have a foundation and concealer.

The finish being satiny, it does not keep face oil free for long hours. Without a base underneath it fades completely in 3 hours. Over the foundation from the same range it works amazingly well for almost 4-5 hours and the staying power depends a great deal on the base you are wearing. If you have oily skin, you can not rely only on this, but over an oil control foundation like MAC studiofix fluid, it stays fresh for the whole day. 🙂 So it is definitely suitable for all skin types. It does not dry out skin any further, nor does it mattify. It sets makeup without being very obvious or powdery which I really like about it.

Coming to the shades, again they have launched 3 colors in India. “Fair” is definitely lighter on my skin, but being sheer it just brightens my face without looking unnatural. 🙂 If you are wheatish or anywhere close to my skin tone, you should opt for “Medium” . The darkest of the lot “Medium / Deep” would be just perfect for dusky girls and also if you are looking for a subtle contour powder, you can give this a try. 😉 Of course you need to be fair or wheatish for you to be able to do that. I am definitely liking subtly contoured cheeks right now and since the powder is so sheer it can also be very handy for those who are beginning to understand the art of contouring. 🙂

I have worn the shade “fair” on my face in the pictures below, to set Revlon nearly naked foundation in shade “True Beige”.

Removing Revlon nearly naked compact is also very easy with a regular face wash if you do not have major makeup on your face. 🙂

My Rating: 3.75 out of 5

My Recommendation: Personally I am loving Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder a lot. It is sheer still provides enough coverage to even out your skin. It provides a natural finish that is not powdery or cakey and sets foundation really well without altering its properties. Unless you have major imperfections to cover, this pressed powder should work for you alright on a daily basis. Worth a try for sure.
