Pure Passion; with its lightweight textures, vibrant hues and flawless finishes encourages women to experiment with makeup and reinvent their look.
Maaya; with its gorgeous shimmer textures, dazzling hues, is perfect to add glamour to all your special occasion.
Though I coudn’t attend the launch event due to some prior commitment, I received an array of products from StudioWest to try and today I am here with a preview as well as a makeup look achieved with those products. 🙂
I have products from both the lines “Pure Passion” and “Maaya” . I am really glad that TATA, an Indian brand has finally ventured into makeup and skincare to bring us products that are high on quality and easy on price tag. Some of the products are easily comparable to it’s high end counterparts while some of them are what you would expect at that price. I will walk you through each of them in short so that you can have an idea about what to try when you venture to your nearest Westside store. 🙂
Coming to Makeup…..
StudioWest Pure Passion Flawless Finish Makeup – Shade “Honey”
Lightweight foundation with medium coverage. It covers most of your flaws in single layer unless you have major acne mark or under eye circles. It works well as a medium coverage concealer too because of the consistency it has. Stays fresh for all day long. I have been liking it a lot these days. Priced at INR 550/- , this is a great option for everyday wear if you prefer lightweight foundations. The shade “Honey” is perfect for my medium complexion. Worth a try for sure.
StudioWest Pure Passion Flawless Finish Compact – Shade “Honey”
Lightweight satin finish that acts as a perfect finishing powder. The compact is feathery soft and crumbles when I use it with my brush…almost like a loose powder packed in a compact form. <3 Controls shine, but does not go matte, something I personally prefer over matte finish. Priced at INR 495/- , StudioWest Pure Passion Flawless Finish Makeup is a gain a great option for every type of skin all year round. Definitely worth a try.
StudioWest Pure Passion Radiance Blush – Shade “Dusty Rose”
My favorite blush these days. 😀 StudioWest Pure Passion Radiance Blush has a pearly finish and this particular shade dusty rose being pink with that golden sheen translates beautifully on skin. Kind of reminds me of MAC “Expensive Pink” eyeshadow, but is pinker hence with that gold twist is just perfect for medium to fair Indian skin tone . <3 Pigmentation is superb and build-able. The formula is soft, but a little coarse if I compare it with other blushers I have. This can be worn during the day and night with a little layering. A must try product from StudioWest. StudioWest Pure Passion Radiance Blush is priced at INR 395/- .
StudioWest Maaya Crystal Eye Shadow – Shade “Goldmine”
If you are an eye makeup fanatic and have been particularly sad about non availability of decent eyeshadow pallettes at affordable price tag, brace yourself. StudioWest Maaya Crystal Eye Shadow undoubtedly is the best drugstore palette I have come across. Super soft, amazingly pigmented, no creasing even after 6-7 hours of wear is what makes this the best. look at the intensity. I bet you wouldn’t find anything even close to this quality at INR 425/- . This particular shade is perfect for parties and bridal trousseau. 🙂 Again a must try product from StudioWest.
StudioWest Pure Passion Extreme Eye Liner – “Olive” ,”Espresso Delight” & Intense Kajal “Black”
I love using pencil liners and it has been a while I got anything new for myself. StudioWest Pure Passion Extreme Eye Liner “Olive” ,”Espresso Delight” are both beautiful shades. Olive works best when layered twice, but Espresso delight works amazingly well on one single swipe. The formula is creamy, smudge proof but fades slightly after a long day. Priced at 295/- these are again great choices for those who like colored eye pencils. They have a blue in the range as well that I quite liked. 🙂
StudioWest Pure Passion Intense Kajal “Black” is again a good kajal that stays on my water line for as long as I don’t use a makeup remover. try it next time you are bored with your colossal/ eyeconic or eye magique kajal. Price: INR 195/-
StudioWest Pure Passion Dramatic Liquid Eye Liner “Black” :
A basic black liquid eyeliner is a must in everyone’s kitty. This one however is wash resistant and not water proof. So even though the pigmentation is superb with a wet finish that stays all day long, this is not your best bet for monsoons or humid summers when you sweat too much. StudioWest Pure Passion Dramatic Eye Liner “Black” is priced at INR 295/- .
StudioWest Pure Passion Luscious Mascara “Black”:
Priced at INR 375/- StudioWest Pure Passion Luscious Mascara is one of the most affordable mascaras available in the market. It enhances your natural lashes nicely, but does not add any length or volume as such. The formula is thick, rich black and very wet hence takes few minutes to dry completely. I have decent natural lashes hence it does look nice on me, but if you have sparse lashes it wouldn’t do much for them. This is again wash resistant and not wash proof, so depends on your preference. A decent product IMO.
I have applied two coats of mascara on my upper and lower lashes in the below picture. The eyeshadow used are from the “Goldmine” trio. Gold on inner corner, plum on lid and bronze on crease. Thats espresso delight on my upper and lower lash line. Tightlined using intense eye kajal “Black”. 🙂
StudioWest Pure Passion Long Lasting Lipstick “Warm Blush”
Like the name suggests StudioWest Pure Passion long lasting lipstick stays on for 4 hours easily leaving behind a gorgeous faint stain. Not one of the shades I usually wear, but I am liking it a lot for the formula. It sits comfortably on lips whole day without being dry. Soft, creamy yet long staying, these pure passion lipsticks are again a good choice if you are looking for affordable long stay lipsticks. Price : INR 450/-
StudioWest Maaya Irresistible Lipstick “Lotus Shine” :
If you are a fan of shimmer lipstick, then this range of maaya irresistible lipsticks would be a delight for you to explore. Sheer formula power packed with even shimmer, this lipstick is not my favorite to be honest simply because I don’t like shimmer on my lips. If you share a different viewpoint then sure go ahead. 🙂 The formula is thin and slightly moisturising. The color stays on for 2.5 hours. removing the shimmer thankfully is not a headache. A good one for shimmer lovers. This range actually has some beautiful colors to explore from. Sadly “Lotus shine” is not one I would ever wear.
StudioWest Pure Passion Cashmere Chubby Lipstick “Dreamy Chestnut” :
Sheer build-able color with juicy wet shine is the USP of pure passion cashmere chubby lipstick. The shade I have is a delight for brown lovers, though not a favorite of mine. I like how it looks in night light though. Guess I have to wait for fall to set in and see for myself. This range has beautiful red, pink and orange hues to choose from which I will be checking out for sure. Color stays on for 3-4 hours and is very moisturising on lips. If glossy lipsticks are your thing, definitely check this range out! 🙂 Price: INR 495/-
StudioWest Pure Passion Luminous Lip Glaze “Raspberry” :
StudioWest Pure Passion Luminous Lip Glaze “Raspberry” reminds me a lot of Lakme plump and shine 3d lip gloss. The formula is similar in many ways. Sheer wash of color with evenly distributed shimmer all over. The color is not buildable though. A good choice if you pair lipglosses with your lipsticks or prefer sheer lip glosses in general. Again priced at an affordable 350/- rupees this luminous lip glaze would be a huge hit with office goers and teenagers.
StudioWest Pure Passion Vivid Nail Colour “Indigo” :
If you can not stop hoarding nail paints,StudioWest has these beautiful nail paints at an amazing price tag of INR 45/- per peice. 😀 The formula is a little runny, but packed with pigments and gives almost opaque finish on single swipe. I have two coats on my nails here and its been 3 days without any chipping even from the outer edge. Highly recommend these to everyone. ^_^
P.S Ignore the shape of my nails. Have been neglecting them for ages. 😐
And finally a simple makeup look I came up with using only StudioWest Makeup. 🙂
The lipstick is Pure passion long stay lipstick “Warm Blush” . The foundation and compact both look very natural both on camera and in person. No concealer used to give you an idea about the coverage. Eye makeup same as explained earlier.
And before I forget, here are the two skin care products I have been using from the same brand.
A mild foaming face wash that smells like green apple. A bit synthetic though, still something I like. It is refreshing and cleans well without being dry. Those who like trying out new face washes will enjoy the new ranges StudioWest has. I am keen on trying the body scrubs from the same range. This face wash is priced at INR 149/-.
Though I am not a fan of Jasmine fragrance, I love this body lotion for the moisturising yet non-sticky formula it has. <3 Very reasonably priced at 199/- rupees for 300 ml, this is definitely one that you must try. Of course they have other variants such as “Calming Lavender” , “Romantic Rose” , “Aloe Vera & Green Apple” , “Honey & Strwberry” , “Almond & Peach” for those who like me are not fond of Jasmine fragrance. Must try the body lotions from StudioWest.
Overall, I would say StudioWest has a lot of products to try and explore from. They are value for money without any compromise on the quality. If you are a bride to be, then StudioWest is a great brand for you to explore and still not drill a hole in your pocket. 🙂 I am sure you are eyeing the eyeshadow pallettes, blush and pencil eyeliners already. Do drop me a comment if and when you visit the store. I would love to know what you liked and if there are more hidden treasures I need to explore from the brand. 🙂
