The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream Review
I have always loved some The Body Shop’s hair care range products (read the Rainforest Range) sitting in my bathroom cabinet because it does deliver what it claims. But I have never really explored their skincare range except the foot and hand creams (which BTW is another staple in my vanity!), so when The Body Shop came up with their annual sale I picked up this Vitamin E Moisture Cream for All Skin Types.
Product Description: An easily absorbed daily moisturising cream that has the lightness of a lotion with the moisturising benefits of a cream.
• Hydrates and protects
• Light and easily absorbed
• Leaves skin soft and healthy-looking
Price: Rs. 995/- for 50 ml
My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream:
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream comes in this black and baby pink colored tub with an extra lid inside for protection. This packaging is my least preferred one especially when it comes to skincare products, simply because it gets messy and unhygienic to use the product from the tub.
The cream itself has salmon pink color to it and the floral fragrance reminds me of the cold cream. It feels heavy on application and leaves a visually thick layer of oiliness on the face which takes a couple of hours to disappear. Surprisingly, this greasy film is visible not only on oily skin but on dry skin too. No doubt it is a heavy duty moisturizer and it does take care of all basic skin needs, but it is not suitable for all skin types. People with oily skin should stay away from this cream.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream Swatch
In general, it is seen that most face creams are categorized as day or night creams but it is not the case with The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream. Neither there is much information about when ideally it should be used. On my combination skin, I have used it as and when needed – day and night. I have even used it before makeup application and I have noticed I do not see visible flaking on skin after applying foundation which is the most common issue for me. But I do need to powder well afterwards to combat the oiliness it leaves behind. Overall, The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream is an ok product. Truly speaking I was expecting more for the price paid and from the brand.
Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream:
- A heavy duty moisturizer which keeps the skin hydrated for entire day
- Best suited for dry skin
- Can be used below makeup
Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream:
- Tub packaging is unhygienic to use
- Little price y for a regular moisturizer
- Does not suit all skin types as claimed
- Leaves a film of oil behind even on dry skin which takes quite sometime to subside
Final Verdict: The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream is an ordinary product in my opinion. It cannot be classified as need specifically. Though it does keep the skin well hydrated throughout the day but it leaves an oily cast behind for hours. Dry skin girls can give it a try, but oily skin should completely avoid this cream.
Review by Priya T
[alert-note]I have used this one during winters but when I was in Mumbai. The oily cast it left behind was too much for me so I stopped using it after the initial week itself. Finally used it all up during my Mussoorie-Dehradoon tour almost a year later and totally loved how it kept my skin hydrated even in that horrible dry weather. So yes it is not meant for oily skin at all, but a really nice option for those who stay in places known for their harsh winters. Nice review Priya. 🙂 [/alert-note]
