Colourpop Love Bug Ultra Matte Lip Review and Swatches
Today this review is about an ultra matte lip shade from the brand Colourpop. Being an ardent Colourpop lover,I keep picking new shades whenever I get a chance. This shade is part of the kit ‘Up and away’ that I picked during my last Colourpop haul. This kit consists of 3 pretty colors and ‘Love Bug’ is one of them. So let’s get on with its review.
Product Description: The boldest formula of our liquid lipsticks – in one smooth swipe, you’ll get intense color payoff that dries down to a super matte, transfer-proof finish.
This thin, lightweight formula smoothly glides on the lips leaving SUPER intense pigment with a bold, ultra-matte look. It is very long-wearing and 100% kiss-proof AKA no transferring!

My take on Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip “Love Bug” :
Shade: According to the brand, ‘Every day is Valentine’s Day when you wear this rich mahogany’. ‘Love Bug’ is a deep brown color with hints of red that makes it look slightly like a terracotta shade. The color is quite a bold deep brown color. The shade is warm toned and so will suit Indian skin tones beautifully. Brown lipstick lovers definitely need to check out this shade.
Packaging: The transparent round sturdy plastic pack with a metallic silver cap is all you need to easily locate and carry it around safely in your handbag. The long foam tip applicator does the application job precisely.
Texture: The texture is thin watery kind that applies easily. It quickly settles down to a complete matte finish which may feel a bit stretchy in the beginning. You have to apply it accurately as rubbing it off later may be an issue. The matte texture then turns into a lightweight formula that sits comfortably on the lips for several hours at a stretch.
The highly pigmented shade doesn’t bleed or feather. It is water resistant too. It is truly transfer proof. It fades away without settling in lip lines. But as it has an ultra matte finish, it is drying and you need a lip balm at the end of the day. Also, the shade will not look good on chapped lips so proper prior exfoliation is a must.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip Love Bug Swatch on me
Longevity: The shade stays fresh for several hours at a stretch. It survives light snacks and a full meal easily. Still the shade starts fading from the centre of the lips after a meal that makes it look patchy and so a re-application becomes a must.
Pros of Colourpop Love Bug Ultra Matte Lip Colour

- Super long staying
- Ultra matte texture
- Light weight feel

Cons of Colourpop Love Bug Ultra Matte Lip Colour

Recommendations/Repurchase: I am definitely going to recommend this color whole heartedly to all deep lip colors lovers. Though not the most comfortable matte textures, still the great staying power and the pretty color makes this Colourpop ultra matte liquid lip colour a must try product.
