Sukin Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Sukin Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Sometimes you expect certain products to perform a certain way on you and when they don’t , you try hard to make them work cause of the lingering expectation. That is exactly how I would describe my experience with this micellar cleansing water from Sukin. Let’s find out if I did end up making it work for me or not.

My Experience with Sukin Organics Micellar Cleansing Water:

Sukin Micellar Cleansing Water comes packaged in a dark plastic bottle with a flip open cap. The bottle is too bulky to carry around hence not suitable for travel. They don’t have travel sizes available either. The hole is big enough to dispense enough liquid but small enough to avoid spillage which is a good thing.

The micellar water is clear and has a runny consistency as most micellar waters which easily soaks up a cotton pad. It removes makeup with ease too, but still it is not one of my preferred products. It stings my eyes and makes it water. Also it tingles skin in a not so nice way. I know that a little tingling sensation is okay and it really is the product sinking into the skin, but this micellar water from Sukin leaves my skin a little too warm in a way that feels very wrong. My skin goes almost numb and that sensation around my eye area is just too much for me to tolerate. I always end up washing up my face as soon as that sensation begins. 😏 What I don’t understand is how can a mild all natural product get my skin to react in such a way.

Another weird thing I noticed with this micellar water is that when I use it on my face on a regular day ( with no makeup on) , it starts foaming a little and I can see it on the cotton pad and my skin. Even though a micellar water essentially is a mix of soap, oil,and water, I have never experienced any foaming with other micellar waters which again makes me wonder what they have in the formula. 😒

That being said, it really removes makeup easily without much effort and it is a shame that I can’t get much use out of it.Sukin micellar water has a nice cucumber like smell that I like.

My Rating: 2 out of 5

My Recommendation: Not really. Even though Sukin micellar water removes makeup effectively, I think the formula can react badly on many. This is the first time I have faced such an issue with any skincare product so this is definitely not worth the experiment.
