Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid “Nude Flush” Swatch And Review
Last week I showed you girls the swatches of 10 Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquids and today I am starting the reviews with one of my favourites from the range, Nude Flush. 🙂
Maybelline ColorSensational Vivid Matte Liquid Price: 17.95 AUD
These are priced a little lower than the vivid matte lipsticks (19.95 AUD) in Australia and going by the trend I have seen so far, these should be priced around INR 450/- whenever they launch in India.
What Maybelline Claims:

My Experience with Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid “Nude Flush” :
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquids come packaged in a sleek rectangular packaging that’s easy to carry around in your bag. The transparent body helps with easy identification. 🙂 The applicator is a flat doe foot type that coats lips evenly, however with few colours I struggle, especially in defining the outer lip line. Thankfully it applies nicely in case of “Nude Flush“with 2-3 strokes of the wand.
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid “Nude Flush” is a medium pink most suitable for fair skin tone. It can look really garish on deeper skin tone, still it is a better idea to try and buy cause these Vivid Matte Liquids have a tendency to adapt and settle into a more wearable version than it appears initially. The color is very similar to MAC Fanfare and like fanfare, it also has the tendency to look different in different lights. It appears pinker than it really is in evening light. (Check swatches)

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid “Nude Flush” Swatch on my lips
Lip swatches and hand swatches are taken after 3 o’clock hence the colour looks more pink. FOTD was taken in warm daylight around noon.
The texture is somewhere between a gel and cream. I can also feel the silicones in most of the shades when I smack my lips. Being extremely creamy it has a tendency to feather. Thankfully it does not bleed, but after 2-3 hours I can see the colour on my lip periphery which kind of looks weird though not ugly. Personally I am not a fan of the “fake big lips” trend, hence I prefer my lip colours to be well within lip boundaries. I would suggest a lip liner to keep this from feathering if you have a long day planned ahead.
Even though Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquids don’t really set into a matte finish, they do appear softer and diffused after a while. “Nude Flush” applies creamy and settles into a velvety soft finish. It still feels creamy though when I try to feel them with my lips or finger.
Pigmentation is great. It applies opaque on one swipe, however to even out the colour I have to use the wand multiple times resulting in more than one layer.
The staying power can either be a couple of hours or 4+ hours depending on how soon you eat or drink. When I give it an hour before munching anything, it lasts way longer and fades uniformly. When I snack within the initial 30 minutes, it starts fading from centre and vanish in 2 hours max.
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquids have a weird chemical + jasmine oil fragrance that I absolutely detest. Some of the colours have it really strong and sadly “Nude Flush” is one of them. If you don’t like strong fragrances in your lip colours, it is better to skip this one. It lingers for half an hour so not a good option for people with a sensitive nose.
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid “Nude Flush” Vs MAC Cremesheen Lipstick “Fanfare” Swatch Comparison
My Rating: 3.5 out of 5
My Recommendation: If you are okay with the fragrance, Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid “Nude Flush” is a beautiful pink from the range to try. The colour is ideal for casual as well as office wear making it quite a versatile shade. 🙂 Worth a try for sure!
