Cheryl’s Skin Care Institute, Kalyan : Launch and Experience
Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals is steadily growing across the country. I was privileged to be a part of the opening of an Exclusive Flagship Institute for Skin Expertise by Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals on the 17th of May 2017 in Kalyan, Mumbai last month. It is a partnership with LookWell Skin and Makeup Studio. “When two experts come together, transformation happens”.
Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals is a pioneer in the field of professional skincare – with a constant endeavour to valorise skincare services in salons with its range of researched and dermatologically tested products along with intensive education for skin care professionals.
With a vision to build the three transformative forces – the salon, the skin care professional and the consumer, the brand envisaged the Cheryl’s Skin Care Institute – a new collaboration platform that brings skin care to the forefront of the salon.
The Institute is a salon that has been created with a diagnosis led consultation at the heart of its design. It is a pioneering to change the way consumers experience skincare in salons today. I took my friend Shalini along to this event. Shalini is 40 and a true Bengali. She is a non vegetarian and drinks around 2 litres of water a day. Her daily skin care routine consists of a neem based face wash. The myth that neem heals all things, prompted her to go in for various neem products, irrespective of whether they suited her skin.
Shalini began her in-salon journey with a digital consultation by a Skin Expert in the Diagnosis Bar. Here you can find highly accurate diagnostic tools such as a Wood’s Lamp and a Hydrameter, Cheryl’s Skin Scan which is a digital diagnosis app. This process ensures that skin solutions are based on the identification of skin type and concerns to show visible results.
The hydra meter or moisture meter checks the hydration level of the skin. A reading of 60 is excellent, 40 and above is normal and 25 shows dehydration. Shalini’s skin showed a reading of 22, her skin was severely dehydrated. After this, a Wood’s Lamp was used to check the skin for pigmentation, open pores, excess sebum and other common skin conditions. Shalini’s skin is sensitive and she had a good amount of oil secretion although her skin was quite dehydrated. There was pigmentation and severe tanning as well.
The Skin Expert, recommended Shalini do the Sensi Glow facial. She was led to the treatment room. Now the rooms are aesthetically designed to create a calm and soothing environment for the client. A relaxed ambience only enhances a professional service, along with the best of products, service tools and skill.

Post the service, the Skin Expert helped Shalini as she checked out the recommended homecare products to maintain her skin.
Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals, was recently acquired by cosmetics giant L’Oréal. They have professional treatments and home care products for both the skin and hair. Cheryl’s has also been training beauticians, aestheticians, dermatologists and skincare practitioners nationwide for the last twenty years.
