L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo Review-
I have very complicated type of hair. The ends of my hair are tremendously dry while my scalp is oily. Finding suitable hair care products for such hair types is a tedious task on its own because most budget-friendly hair care goodies target either oily hair or dry hair. I had to put my hair under the care of dry hair products till now. On a recent visit to my local beauty store, I discovered L’Oreal’s hair care range Extraordinary Clay which is specially designed for ‘Oily Scalp & Dry Ends’. This range of shampoos are not entirely new, this range was available in many countries earlier under the Elvive or Hair Expert range. This collection has three products; a shampoo, a conditioner and a clay mask. But, L’Oreal has launched only the shampoo and the conditioner in India. Read on to find how L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo fared on my hair.
What L’Oreal Says-
L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo washes off excess oil from scalp and roots. It helps to eliminate impurities and pollution particles and gives moisturized free-flowing hair.
How to Use: Apply the shampoo on wet hair and massage with finger tips. Rinse away with water. Works best with full Extraordinary Clay ritual.
Price: Rs.66 for 75ml
My take on the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo–
This shampoo comes in a light sea-green opaque plastic bottle with a deep green coloured see-through flip-open cap. The packaging of the shampoo is quite similar to the other shampoos from this brand. The packaging is quite sturdy, travel-friendly and leak-proof.
This shampoo has a faded green colour which looks almost white when it is poured out in small amount. It has light runny texture with pearl finish. The formula is thinner than L’Oreal’s Total Repair 5 shampoo.
This product has a very unique energizing aqua fragrance to it.The fragrance feels very freshening to me but it is not a long staying one.
There is another energizing aspect to this shampoo apart from its fragrance. This shampoo produces light cooling and tingling sensation to the scalp. This is perhaps due to the Eucalyptus Oil and Salicylic Acid content. The tingling sensation is like a burst of freshness in the shower. I am in love with every part of it!
Coming to the performance, this shampoo is basically a clarifying hair cleanser with gentle formula. It cleanses the accumulated oil and impurities without over-drying my hair. I need to follow it up with a conditioner or my hair would get frizzy in a few hours. This shampoo is supposed to make the hair oil-free which it certainly does. It looks like its conditioning counterpart is there to replenish the moisture. This shampoo claims to make the scalp oil-free for 3 days and for my hair this claim has been proven true.
Pros of the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo:
- Good clarifying shampoo for combination hair
- Cleanses scalp from greasiness and product build-up
- Keeps the scalp oil-free for 3 days
- Fresh aqua fragrance
- Produces cooling and tingling sensation on scalp
- Available in various sizes
- Leak-proof packaging
Cons of the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo:
- Contains sulphate as cleansing agent
- Conditioner is a must with this shampoo to prevent frizzyness
Swatch of the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo-
My Rating: 4/5!
