Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate Review
How have you all been? I hope the winter season is not too harsh on your skin. Personally I am in a pretty happy place as far as my skin is concerned and this particular skincare product from Kiehl’s has been my savior for the past couple of months. If you have dehydrated and dullness as your main skin concern, do pay attention. 😉 Presenting Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate .
Price: INR 4450/- and AU$ 87.00 for 50 ml
What Kiehl’s Claims:
A serum concentrate that gives new life to dull, tired skin
Cleanse skin thoroughly prior to application. Apply Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate into the palm of your hand and then smooth over entire face and neck.
My Experience with Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate:
I have acne prone skin that had developed some dry patches once I moved to Melbourne. Colder climate and age both tend to dry skin and those dry areas on my face (around nose and lips mostly) were not getting healed even with regular moisturisation. That is when I paid a visit to the nearest Kiehl’s counter and got myself few samples as per their recommendation. The samples included Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate , Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque and Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. I used all three for a week and loved how my skin felt in just 7 days. So got myself full sizes of this Serum Concentrate and Cleansing Clay Masque. The ultra facial cream is wonderful, but I felt the serum alone was taking care of my skin’s moisture needs effectively. 🙂
Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate has the typical no fuss Kiehl’s packaging which I like. The tall bottle with a pump mechanism works perfectly with the creamy gel texture of the serum. However I really wish this bottle was see through. I have been using it for more than 2 months and hoping it to give me some sort of warning before it is all used up . 🙁
The texture of Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate is unlike any serum I have come across so far. Usually serums have a runny watery consistency but this Re-Texturizing serum has a gel like texture similar to Vaseline sans the greasy oily feel. It gets absorbed in seconds and leaves skin deeply hydrated yet matte. I am really surprised how it manages to hydrate so well without a trace of oil or shine on skin. Just amazing!
Ever since I started using this, my dry patches have vanished. My skin looks better in terms of texture, is plump, the pores around my nose and expression lines don’t look as prominent as before. I am also using clay masks every alternate day for pores but I have been noticing results with regular usage of Kiehl’s Re-Texturizing Serum 2 weeks into it. This serum from Kiehl’s suits my acne prone skin perfectly well, so if you have acne prone skin, but are suffering from dry skin (a rather confusing combination for skin and us) , this serum will do wonders to your skin. You can layer your favourite moisturiser on top if you have very dry skin.
Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate Swatch
Personally I have been using it twice a day barring those few days in between when I wanted to incorporate facial oils in my skin care regimen. Sadly those oils broke me out repeatedly and I was back to using this serum. I do feel this serum makes it easy for my skin to heal from the break outs and skin irritation. Within 2 days my skin goes back to being normal while when left on its own, the pimples take almost a week to subside. It also works great as a base for my foundation to glide on without interfering with it’s formula or feel. Overall I am pretty happy with Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate . For someone with sensitive acne prone skin like mine, getting the right dose of hydration without irritating skin any further is really a huge fact to consider. Thanks to this, my winter went very smooth as far my skin is considered. The fact that this can be used around my under eye area keeps my skin care routine simpler and I am happy knowing there is a targeted anti ageing treatment working on that sensitive area without having to go through the additional fuss eye creams come with. ^_^
A full pump is enough for my entire face and neck. So the 50 ml bottle will last a long time. I have been using it for more than 2 months and as mentioned already, I use it twice a day, hence the hefty price tag does not bother me much. I will definitely repurchase it again once winter is around the corner.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5
My Recommendation: To be honest, the price tag can not be ignored, but if you are in your 30s, can afford and do like to splurge on skincare, Or if your skin is dehydrated in spite of you trying many products, Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate could be your best bet. It hydrates, helps reduce appearance of fine lines and suitable for sensitive skin. Do try the sample first to see how it fares on you. I am highly impressed with this serum and will recommend it to everyone.
