Becca Backlight Priming Filter Review & Swatch-
Hello Everyone ..
Becca needs no introduction if you talk about Highlighters and the Glowy / dewy Skin trend . Becca’s skin perfectors and backlight priming filter are both highly raved about products , so I had to pick atleast one . I ended up ordering The Backlight primer filter online (and paid lot of money as shipping+customs duty )
I have had this for about an year now , so sharing my thoughts in the review today ..

My take on the Becca Backlight Priming Filter-
The primer comes in a sturdy , slightly bulky , frosted glass bottle with a pump. The overall appeal of the bottle is very classy and looks pretty sitting on your dresser .
The primer has a golden beige colored , pearlescent formula . There are no shimmer or glitter particles in it but extremely fine pearly pigments which provide that amazing Glow . It has a faint , sweet fragrance which fades away quickly , so not bothersome . It has light weight , non greasy texture and absorbed quickly into the skin . For my Oily-Combination skin it is fairly Hydrating but I do use a little moisturizer underneath this .
I purchased this Primer around same time last year from Cult Beauty and have been using it in different ways for my makeup . For my formal occasions or party makeups I like to use this as an under base before applying my foundation . The primer definitely gives an amazing glow to the skin which looks subtle , natural and not over the top . It gives my skin that “Glowing from within” healthy skin appearance which I love . However , it does nothing for my enlarged pores . Also , I have not seen this helping my makeup stay in place for longer .
For my routine makeup , I like to add a pump of this in my Clinique Foundation , instead of wearing it as base/layer and I love the resultant Glow I get from this . Also , Doing this doesn’t alter the shade of my foundation , just makes the finish lovely and slightly dewy .
I also love to use this as highlighter on my highpoints as it looks so amazingly natural and undetectable , perfect for day wear . On my Good Skin days , I like to use this and top it with a Compact powder and I am good to go .
Overall, I love this Primer for the kind of soft , natural glow it gives . It gives my dull lacklustre skin that much needed boost . If you are planning to invest in this primer I would suggest you to try a sample first so that you can weigh out its pros and cons because the primer is slightly on the expensive side .
Pros of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter:
- Light weight , silky formula blends/absorbs easily into the skin
- Doesnot contain chunky shimmer/glitter particles
- The glow it gives is amazingly natural
- Mild , sweet fragrance
- Classy and functional packaging
Cons of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter:
- Does nothing to reduce the appearance of pores.
- Does not improve the staying power of my foundation
- Expensive and availability is is an issue in India
Swatch of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter-
My Rating: 3.75/5!
Do I recommend the Becca Backlight Priming Filter?
Becca Backlight Priming Filter is an Amazing product for giving a fresh , Glowy appearance to the skin which looks natural , subtle and not made up. But if you plant to buy this as a makeup primer which would help your makeup stay longer or reduce the look of pores , you might not like it then . I still like it a lot and I try to prep my skin with a pore reducing primer first before using this . I would suggest getting a trial sample of this before investing in a full sized bottle .
