Forest Essentials Bhringraj and Shikakai Hair Thickening Spray Review-
Hey my pretty ladies!
I hate confusing products. Period. More so, confusing, expensive products -_-. I picked up this spray from Forest Essentials more than a year back on the recommendation of the S.A at the store who told me it was a hair serum to tame & volumize my hair. Sounds pretty simple right? Well as it turns out, NO. Apparently this is a sort of a hair vitalizer which helps in hair growth & prevents hairfall :-/ (quoted by another S.A of a different FE store). Then why do you have another hair vitalizer FE? This is specifically the reason I had stashed this away in my cupboard & only recently came across it & started using it up before the expiry date.
What Forest Essentials Says-
A soft silkening hair serum infused with Bhringraj, Shikakai, Fenugreek seeds strengthen the hair follicles, prevent hair loss and increase density of hair. Ratanjot and hydrolysed wheat protein gives the hair volume, shine and strength.
It is potent hair serum that strengthen the hair follicles, prevent hair loss and increases density of hair.It is easy to use, non- greasy and non-sticky.
How to use-
Spray thoroughly on towel-dried hair.
Comb through and style as desired.
Bhringraj oil is known as the ‘food for hair’, gives excellent hair growth. Strengthens the hair, nourishes and prevents dandruff.
Shikakai fruit is popularly referred as “fruit for the hair” as it has a naturally mild pH that gently cleanses the hair without stripping it of natural oils and encourages strong hair roots.
Price: 1250/- INR for 100 ml.
My take on the Forest Essentials Bhringraj and Shikakai Hair Thickening Spray-
The packaging is typical FE body mist type- a sturdy transparent plastic bottle with a spray nozzle & colored accents to signify the bhringraj shikakai range. Travel & user friendly along with being hygienic 🙂
The spray is colorless with a very thin, watery consistency which is not at all sticky or greasy much to the relief of my thin, fine hair. Since it is supposed to be a hair serum, I spray it all over my just washed hair & let my hair dry naturally like I always do.
Much to my delight, the first time when I used this & my hair dried, I saw my hair definitely looking a bit more voluminous than usual & nice & shiny. However, it does nothing at all to tame my very frizzy hair lengths & ends & they just go from bad to worse the next day & I have to apply my usual Kerastase serum.
I have used this on my hair roots as well & though it does not make them greasier than usual, I have seen no such difference in thickening or arresting hairfall. It did not aggravate my already sensitive dandruff prone scalp further though.
The fragrance is mild & herbal, not at all offensive & fades within a few moments of spraying.
Pros of the Forest Essentials Bhringraj and Shikakai Hair Thickening Spray:
1> Nice, sturdy bottle packaging which is both convenient & travel friendly.
2> Does add some volume to my very thin & fine hair 🙂
3> Makes hair look nice & healthy without weighing them down.
4> No greasy/sticky feeling on roots/hair.
5> Mild, inoffensive herbal smell.
6> Natural ingredients.
Cons of the Forest Essentials Bhringraj and Shikakai Hair Thickening Spray:
Confusing product as it tries to double up & fails.
Does nothing to tame my frizzy hair in any way.
My Rating: 3.8/5!
Do I recommend the Forest Essentials Bhringraj and Shikakai Hair Thickening Spray?
Forest Essentials Bhringraj and Shikakai Hair Thickening Spray is a nice herbal formulation spray which claims to arrest hairfall, increase growth, make hair silky & voluminous. Bit too much to digest! It does leave my fine hair looking a bit thicker that’s for sure & I have been using it up for that only. Otherwise it has till now done nothing else & I don’t plan to repurchase.
