Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom Review-
Hello my lovelies 🙂
You must have all heard of the brand Glossier which is very famous for a few of their very cult products which have their very own niche in the beauty world. One such cult is their all purpose salve called Balm Dotcom which comes in a wide variety of flavors among which I got the Birthday flavor 😀
What Glossier Says-
A hydrating, long-lasting, multipurpose lip balm and skin salve that’s packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair dry, chafed skin. The dense, waxy texture stays in place to seal in moisture wherever it goes. Opt for Original, or choose from five mood-enhancing flavors: Birthday (inspired by Milk Bar’s famous cake, with subtle shimmer), Rose (with a barely-there pink tint), Cherry (with a sheer, juicy red tint), Mint, and Coconut. The lip-smacking 11-year-old in you is freaking out right now. Collect them all!
What is it?
An all-purpose skin and lip balm.
How to use:
Swipe onto lips for long-lasting hydration and a shimmery sheen. For an instant mood lift, place opening of tube beneath nostrils and breathe deeply.
Birthday Flavor- Smells like cake (at a surprise party with rainbow confetti—the corner piece with the most frosting).
My take on the Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom-
The balm dotcom balms all come in very sleek, plastic tubes with different colored screw-on tops & accents to signify the variants & this particular birthday one comes with a pale peach cap & glittery design on the tube. Extremely easy to use, distinguish & carry round anywhere with you.
The colorless balm is very very thick in texture to the point of being extremely difficult to squeeze out of the tube but thankfully it melts so easily as soon as it comes in contact with the warmth of the skin or lips & softens them immediately with a lovely sheen.
I have loved it from day 1 on my lips. 😀 It was January when I bought and my lips were chapped even worse than usual and so dry they were like sandpaper. This soothed, smoothed & hydrated my lips beautifully within a couple of days as well as my worn out cuticles (thanks to the umpteen bottles & bowls I wash for my baby). It also softens my hands at bedtime & lends a lovely sheen to lips which I love.
The variant Birthday literally smells of a lovely vanilla birthday cake with sprinkles & it is mouthwatering trust me 😛 Thankfully it is neither too sweet or cloying & lingers for a long time ^_^
Pros of the Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom:
1> Very convenient, travel friendly, colorful, sleek tube packaging.
2> Rich, thick yet non greasy texture which melts in skin contact.
3> Hydrates, softens, repairs dry skin, cuticles, lips.
4> This variant is colorless with a slight sheen which looks great on lips.
5> This smells of vanilla birthday cake & is delicious!
Cons of the Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom:
A bit pricey for something which has petroleum as the first ingredient!
