Ouai Volume Shampoo Review-
As I mentioned in my last Ouai hair oil post, it has launched in India across the Sephora stores very recently & I have mostly liked all the products I have tried from them. This shampoo is one of the very early purchases I made here in the UK & as you will see from the photos, I have almost used it up. Read on to know if I liked it.
What Ouai Haircare Says-
From celebrity coiffeuse Jen Atkin – responsible for maintaining the manes of Klan Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and Gwen Stefani (to name a few) – OUAI’s range of hair cleansers all share the same signature scent, OUAI #1; a luxurious blend of Italian lemon, Turkish rose, jasmine, iris, lily and white musk. With an ultra-thick, indulgent texture (you only need the tiniest amount to create a great lather), this stars ‘OUAI Smart Technology’ – a cocktail of nourishing ingredients including amino acids, tamarind seed, keratin, ama oil, hibiscus and jasmine to fortify strands, enhance moisture levels, repair and protect from humidity. And the gorgeous bottles make an ultra-chic addition to your bathroom cabinet. Just say ‘Ouai’.

My take on the Ouai Volume Shampoo-
The packaging of the Ouai shampoos are in sync with the rest of the brand- sleek, white, minimalist. All the shampoos come in almost identical packaging- sleek sturdy white bottles with white flip-top lids. Easy to both use & travel with.
The shampoo is colorless with a runny gel consistency & foams up quite well even on oiled hair unlike many sulphate free shampoos, It cleans my hair & scalp completely of all dirt & oil without stripping the natural oils. My hair feels soft & clean while rinsing it out.
After my hair dried, my hair looked soft & bouncy though a bit dry but definitely with noticeably added volume ^_^. My frizz was not controlled though & I did have to use its conditioner & a heavy duty leave-in to do so.
I felt the volumizing effect lasts at least a couple of days & I can stretch my hair till a 3rd day without washing which is amazing by my greasy scalp standards so yay for that!
The fragrance is simply divine- a mixture of very classy floral, musk & fresh notes which do linger for sometime before fading.
Pros of the Ouai Volume Shampoo:
1> Sleek, convenient bottle packaging.
2> Easy to foam, runny texture which cleans hair & scalp really well.
3> Makes hair soft, voluminous & bouncy.
4> Impressive natural based ingredients list.
5> Keeps my greasy scalp oil-free for a longer time.
6> Amazing subtle floral musky scent.
Cons of the Ouai Volume Shampoo:
Makes my hair a bit dry & does nothing for the frizz.
My Rating: 4.5/5!
Do I recommend the Ouai Volume Shampoo?
Ouai Volume Shampoo is a very nice volumising shampoo which is sulphate free, color safe & cleans greasy scalp/hair really well with noticeable volumising effects. I think I will repurchase since it worked quite well for me & did not aggravate hairfall. Recommended.
