Shu Uemura Color Lustre Brilliant Glaze Masque Review-
Hello my pretties!
I have already reviewed the very pricey but luxurious & lovely color preserving shampoo from Shu Uemura a while back here & this indulgent masque is of the same color lustre line which I purchased together & am almost through with. I use it once a week as a deep treatment & have loved it!
What Shu Uemura Says-
The Shu Uemura Art of Hair Color Lustre Masque (200ml) is a colour preserving mask that restores the hair’s protective layer to deeply care for the hair fibre. It gives your hair a weightless, glazed finish and prevents your colour from vanishing. Giving polished shine, it is infused with musk rose oil rich in fatty acids and vitamin A as well as goji berry extract which protects from oxidation and colour fading. It is designed for weekly use on finer hair or daily use in place of a conditioner on thicker hair and is suitable for natural to colour treated locks. L.B.
Additionally, it has a lovely Rose of Japan scent and boasts the following composition:
- Top Notes: Mandarin, Grapefruit, Black Currant, Cardamom Essence
- Heart Notes: Rose, Freesia, Violet
- Base Notes: Sandalwood, Musk, Vanilla
Directions for use: After shampooing, massage into damp hair. After 2-3 minutes, rinse out. For finer hair, use as weekly treatment. For thicker hair, use daily in place of conditioner.

My take on the Shu Uemura Color Lustre Brilliant Glaze Masque-
I love the bright red flat tub packaging with a screw-on red & black lid to look at & that’s all -_- It is neither convenient to balance on a wet, slippery shower shelf nor hygienic to dip fingers every single time. It isn’t travel friendly either since it anyway leaks in the shower :-/
The mask is runny, shimmery creamy white in color and spreads quite well into the ends of my wet shampooed hair. 🙂 I leave it on for 5-6 minutes and wash it off with warm water. It washes off nicely and easily without any slithery slippery feel.
It does indeed leave my hair so so soft, much glossier than before and tames my frizz and flyaways to a very large extent while giving hydration. 😀 It does not weigh down my fine hair at all & instead gives it life & bounce. I love indulging in a deep treatment with it once a week.
It has a lovely subtle rose fragrance which is not at all synthetic & lingers in hair for a while.
Pros of the Shu Uemura Color Lustre Brilliant Glaze Masque:
1> Gorgeous looking flat red tub packaging.
2> Runny texture which is very easy to apply & wash off.
3> Makes hair soft, hydrated & very manageable.
4> Tames frizz very well without weighing down fine hair.
5> Very lovely natural rose fragrance which lingers.
Cons of the Shu Uemura Color Lustre Brilliant Glaze Masque:
Not a convenient packaging to store, use or carry.
My Rating: 4.8/5!
Do I recommend the Shu Uemura Color Lustre Masque?
Shu Uemura Color Lustre Masque is very pricey no doubt, but it does deliver what it claims to. It hydrates hair beautifully without any heavy residue, tames frizz & definitely retains color for longer. Recommended if you are a hair freak & want to indulge.
